For those of you who don't know this, Kenny Green was the creator of "Hip Hop/Soul" all of those songs that put Mary J Blige on the map he wrote them. In 2017 i still listen to Intro first cd its a classic, he died to soon RIP Mr Kenny Green!

My cousin was something special... He did A LOT of work for people that didn't get the recognition it deserves. He worked with Ashanti, Monica, Mary J, Case, Donnell Jones, Usher, Tyrese, Sparkle and a GREAT deal of others. His writings and arrangements were something special and his heart was gigantic! May he rest in peace and his talents live on!

The common denominator between MJB & Jodeci was Sean Combs, and it was he who heard Kenny Greene’s sound (rhythmic upbeat street type soul with a hip hop essence) and pushed his young artists to go there, knowing it was a great sound that would sell. This isn’t known by many but it is documented. And if u wanna really get technical, this sound can trace its roots back to The Force MC’s ‘BKA’ The Force MD’s and even more so to Teddy Riley who did Kool Moe Dee’s album and produced Doug E Fresh’ legendary song “The Show” before gaining worldwide fame with Guy, Blackstreet, Keith Sweat, Today, Wrecks N Effect etc. There’s nothing new under the sun.

Not heard a live version of this till now. OMG. Those boys were bloody brilliant live. Kenny's vocals were on point. Super talented singer AND song writer. I can't help but feel that we RnB lovers missed out on some classics due to his passing..RIP Mr Greene. You wrote the songs of my youth, I'll be ever grateful.

I always come back to listen to Kenny and Intro when Im in my music nostalgic bag. His voice was so special. Lincoln University HomeComing ( i think) 93' they performed and it was fire! So miss those days, but so glad to have experienced it. RIP Kenny One of A Kind Love
