Just in case anyone else was trying to understand why the sine function had this effect at 2:01, the default period is 1 and not 2pi. Thus, the default equation is y = sin(2pi * x)

Is the mask broken for anyone else using 4.24? Un-checking the Red channel in the Mask node after connecting it to the TexCoord node yields a red mask instead of B&W :/

My Beam doesn't glow...
@ByterunnersGS9 жыл бұрын

+Byterunners Is there any way to make bloom not fade away in the distance? I notice no matter what I tried I cant get bloom to be visible when I go a little farther away, the bloom is only visible when the camera is close!
@ByterunnersGS9 жыл бұрын
ChimeraProd - When You set up Your bloom, and the bloom is still not bright enough, go to the beam material, and use a multiply node on the emissive property. We do that. Multiplying by 1.5 or 2 should give You what You want, higher values will get unnatural but still cool looking bloom and a very bright glow. Go end experiment with that. You attach the current emissive node to the multiply, and then to the material slot. Try it out and let us know if it helped!
@ChimeraProd9 жыл бұрын
Byterunners Yeah I know how to change the brightness by multiplying, I meant the bloom/glow does not stay rendered on screen until you get close to it. If you pull the camera back you notice it starts to fade out completely, and if you have a long object its like it half fades out and looks odd. Theres someone who made a tron material that said its pretty complicated to keep bloom in the distance and gave me an experimental method though. But aside from bloom I have another problem I notice, My emissive materials seem to fade out in the distance completely. Not just the bloom, but the whole material / texture! What causes this? How can I keep it from dissapearing? In unlit mode the object/textures are still visible, but then in lit mode they fade away! I have long hallways that I need to see from up high and I have emissive textures on them but I cant even see them at all when the camera is far, no color, nothing!
