Welcome weary travelers to part 2 of an introduction to the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons (5th Edition). As a casual player myself and by no means an expert, this video series is geared towards beginners and those new to the game, or for those who have never even seen or heard of it.
This is a monthly series, so stay tuned for the next video in the series where we will either continue making more characters or design an example adventure.

What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
ASMR videos are not only meant to help induce ASMR or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety, stress, insomnia, help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and more.

Why not make a D&D characters based on your channel's characters. Corvus as an alchemist Yuri as knight (or a spy... Maybe both?) Charlie Baggs as a halfling The professor as warlock Margaret as... Witch, perhaps? Maybe even a barbarian. And so on....

Hey Rift! Loving the D&D videos. Can't wait for Part 3. One thing I'd like to point out is that your characters gets to add their Proficiency Bonus to skills, saving throws, and weapons they are proficient in. So your stealth skill wouldn't just be +4, it would be +6 (+4 Dex, +2 Proficiency Bonus). All other skills just get the ability modifier.

man, I cannot wait for more in this series. ASMR or not I think a lot of us can appreciate being calmly shown something we are interested in without the jarring noises and flashiness that are all too common in the everyday commercial experience. Dnd is so bloody underrated, I think that you should definitely do a game and show us how you play and DM, which I personally am relatively new to, despite DMing 2 campaigns I'm still not confident when it comes to creating side quests and events.

Until this video, I'd never actually considered even trying D&D, but now, I'm so interested, it seems pretty fun. Oh, and the burned paper gave me a small idea. Essentially, just hold some crumpled or old paper above the flame like you did in here, so that the heat crisps it, but the flame doesn't touch it, and you can make some good looking tattered scrolls.

Here is a formula to calculate your ability modifier. ( ability - 10 ) / 2 rounded down. Example: ability = 15 15-10=5 5/2=2.5 rounded down = 2 and of course add the ability modifiers of your character class and/or race.

I HIGHLY suggest investing the extra $60 in Volo's guide to monsters and Xanathar's guide to Everything. Because Volo's gives you access to some of the best monster races. It has The Goblins, Actual Orks, Lizard Folk and a few others. Xanathar's gives you bullshit for the different classes and it's damn near ESSENTIAL to anyone playing a class.

Uncle E, can you do a video about exhaustion? Rift, this is such a fun series, but I have to make the point, one you may have missed, but the Ranger class doesn't know any spells til the second level. Unless you're doing this as a homebrew for funsies sort of thing, I just wanted to make sure you knew.

pretty sure some versions of DnD limit some classes by alignment. for example, If I remember, paladins have to be lawful good.

Unfortunately the possible animal companions are limited to Beasts (Challenge Rating 1/4 and lower). Fortunately you can choose to have an octopus, name him Squidward and use him as an improvised throwing weapon.

ER you never cease to deliver good videos man... I friggen love pen and paper rpg's and your last video was really nice. Being in character for this one is even cooler (and nerdier, and I mean that as a compliment) than the last. Others have posed the question before but would you ever consider an ASMR RPG Session? I have a good quality microphone used for recording and I could try whispering... perhaps I could send a sample to ya if you really want. But if that's not on the table no biggie, but I do got another idea too- you said you and your son were doing a campaign together yeah? What if you narrated the cumulative story your guy's characters experience and endure, like you have a record log of stuff written down after each session and you read it off to us like a storyteller, we follow Father and Son's DnD Adventure or something like that. Wouldn't even have to record you and your kid playing really, because I'd know that'd make the game tedious- just telling us the ingame story that happens maybe. Just an idear, lemme know your thoughts!

If you do decide to do a sorta asmr rpg session thing, let me know- I don't got time normally to make videos myself but I am a professional voice actor and I got good recording equipment, so I can pitch in for a sorta organized session thing or what have ya online if you want. Irregardless of your decisions in the future, looking forward to the new content.
