great video, congratulations! I would like to know if it is possible to animate more than one compnent nested within the same component with a single click. by clicking at the main component, I would like to change atributes of more than one sub components imagine two pieces of wood joined by a hinge. and at the end of one of these pieces is a second hinge attached to a base. then the set rotates with two degrees of freedom. the idea is to animate the folding and unfolding movement of the workbench of this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIaxi4mXfKZ4aac tks

Justin... great videos .. but only three :) ps what we really all need is a video on DO's, DON"TS and GOCHA's when creating dynamic components... eg the cm bug, using components vs groups, naming conventions,,,, etc. imlications of using cm or inches

Hi there, Your videos are helping me a lot but i cant find a way to add new component to existing dynamic component. Im not sure if that is possible but i guess it should be. I created a nice cabined and i did made relation to all parts and axes position but then i remembered that the cabined should have a shelf. How do i do that?

Your instructions are super clear, but I have never seen anything about this problem, (see below) how do I prevent a feature of a component from updating when I make a dynamic change IE a rabbit joint that changes depth when I change a width or depth of a cabinet back. example: if I make a backer for a bookcase and it has a rabbit in the back, when I change the depth dynamically by making the depth of the case deeper it also changes the depth of the rabbit.

Hi, This video is very helpful. Although, I have miter corners and 4 pieces for 4 sides (extruded aluminum). I have their position linked to "Frame size component" so they move with when I change the attributes of "Frame size" component but I can not change the size of these 4 sides without distorting the 45 degree cut of these side pieces. Could someone please help.

I would like to make Dynamic Plant plan components where I can choose a specific shrub from a list and the size/color/and other attributes would change automatically. then I could "generate report" to get a specific plant list and have pant costs and quantities. would that work? I'm just getting into dynamic components so maybe there is a better way to this too.

Tried this - sketchup lost the plot and converted mm to cm and then to inches - got around this by converting with a factor hoping the math will be consistent when I use the numbers again in the drawing
