@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo Yeah you will love it I like the fact that the tachometer is now at 7500 rpm range now so you can really wind out the power of 181hp it is great and with the telescopic steering wheel they equipped it with makes the driving position all the better. You will have a blast just like all the previous models but in my opinion this is just a little more on that sweeter side.

Hoping for the Recaro seats and back up camera for '18 in the states.

I know Mazda is releasing a "special edition" in 2018, here in Aus that is a GT with the recaros and brembos etc. I would looooovvveee the recaro seats, but in saying that the leather is really nice. So I would say you'll be in luck with the seats, plus I remember reading that in the US it will be mandatory for cars to have reverse cameras come 2018, correct me if I'm wrong. So that takes care of your other hope :)

I can't get any information on 2018s yet, and my local dealer wants to sell me a '17 so they are pleading ignorant on when the '18s come out or what they will have. I have to back into a corner of my garage so the backup camera will be nice.

Of course they want to shift the '17's. In the end I guess it depends whether you want to be in a car right now, or are happy to wait. You'd kick yourself if you "settled" for a 17, then the 18 comes out and it is everything you wanted. In saying that, if you could get the dealer to factory fit a reversing camera for the right price, then maybe it's worth it :)

Beautiful car, mate, even if they have you sitting on the wrong side. 😀. I own the 2016 GT soft top--actually, one of the first 1000 introduced in the U.S.--and aside from a few minor issues I could hardly be happier with it. I may upgrade to an RF in a couple of years if they add a big, worthwhile feature like adaptive cruise control, but for now I'm having a blast. Enjoy!

Thanks very much mate. I think the nappa colour doesn't come across as well, on camera, as it looks in real life. In person I think it works really well, especially with the machine grey paint. Wonder if it will age well.. sure hope so!

I’ve been speccing a mx5 and i’m not sure which seats look the best with black exterior . The black leather with red stitching ( looks great but blends in with the dashboard color) or the Takumi (which look the same as the nappa leather seats on your car, not sure if they’re just named differently). Anyones opinion is welcome. Great video btw, audio was a bit low but i didn’t mind that.

Hey mate. So over here in Aus we get 4 seat options. Cloth, Black Leather, Nappa Leather or Cream Leather. Personally my favourite seats would be the Canadian recaros, those are insane! I reckon the nappa looks great, and the contrast is really nice, yet subtle. Black is always classic, but I get what you mean about it blending in. Thanks for enjoying the video, and I'm not sure what I stuffed up with the audio :(
