This is by far the best series out there that teaches some of the basic building blocks used in developing prediction models. I read about Power Rates and other systems but know I can take this and build on it. This 5 Part Series, the Elo and let's not forget the drive level models. Until the games are back, we can work towards building the perfect model with dreams of some massive winnings. Really, really, really look forward to more. Thanks...

This has been the best series out there for learning. Each time I watch I understand more and learn more to apply for the stuff I'm doing here at home. Only critique on this series is that you added the pyth and other columns to the ADJ final sheet on video 4 that didn't carry over to this video. So, it was a bit confusing at first, and the notion is negated anyways with updated workbook and macros. Regardless there are so many tools taught in this series that it doesn't matter, because the whole concept and themes on the SBT videos is to build your own anyways. Thanks SBT and keep up the great work.

Amazing series. I really appriciate the effort that you put into these videos. I made sure to put them in good use. Thanks again Can't wait for the r series.

The abbreviations on the Raws page are a little confusing, sometimes "O" means offense, sometimes "O" means opponent. Still an invaluableand impressive video, what you did a few videos back really paid off with the ability to plug and play, and just throw all those stats in.

Amazing video series. I wish you could make a video with a simple web scraping method for opening and closing lines/or particular bookmakers. And how to incorporate it into excel. Thank You for the work you do!

Am I correct in that without changing some of the code, we can't get rid of the scores sheet? Am trying to adapt to CBB and have team stats but no game log. Thanks!

Great series, helped a lot. Any idea why when I run the Ratings Cycle code everything goes okay, except my plays per first down adjustments are in the hundreds and my turnover percentages are in the 70s-90s? I copied the code from the excel doc exactly.

Awesome series and thank you for taking the time to produce it. I'm not able to get your latest Raw_PG_Calculate to run properly. It loops through and calcs the Raws PG sheet but doesn't populate any data on the League PG sheet and just zeros on the League ADV tab. Any ideas?
@NCKLM4 жыл бұрын
I could be wrong, but it looks like there isn't code to append the League tab, which then drives the PG & ADV tabs?
@NCKLM4 жыл бұрын
Ok, so I'm finding that if you clear E2:T4 on the League tab and re-run Raw_PG_Calculate it does not re-populate the League tab, therefore not driving the output on League PG & ADV. This was performed with the downloaded spreadsheet and macro.

@@NCKLM Download the sheet and macros as they are from the description in video 5. If its not working its something on your end.

@@williamleiss4 Thanks, and just to confirm, that's exactly what I did. How does data get from Raws PG to the League sheet? Does that data exist on the League sheet prior to running Raw PG Calculate? Data from Raws to Raws PG tab makes sense, but then asking to calc League PG and ADV yet VB doesn't appear to write to the League sheet first. Sheets("League PG").Cells(2, column_number).Cells = Sheets("League").Cells(2, column_number).Value / Sheets("League").Cells(2, 2).Value

@@NCKLM I manually calculated and input some of the league averages. Some of the league average stats need to be calculated on a game-by-game basis instead of simply averaging each team's season long stat together.

Absolutely awesome info! Thank you so much! As I am a little bit 'disabled' if it comes to coding can you please please adjust macro for when additional stats originates in 'SCORES' tab and NOT populated for per team through 'Raws' tab ie I want the stats to be introduced per GAME and not per Team PLEASE!

Hey mate, great series, I've been adapting your spreadsheets for rugby league. I've redone the pfdump and raw tab. Just wondering which macros to run (or not to run) and in what order, to populate some of the other tabs. Cheers

Not quite sure... I don't have the file (anymore). The answer will be in the video, however.

Where did you find the split home and away league stats that you input before calculating? I got the team stats from pfr, but I am having trouble finding matching average stats for home and away teams.

Still working my way thru this, but I feel like some of this stuff like getting more turnovers away than at home is just a matter of luck, even if you add in more seasons.

instead of multiplying by -1 at 13:38, you could have just reversed the order of the subtraction. In other words instead of a-b, choose b-a.

I trust you are keeping safe. In going through this video, you mention two new macros. At the 3:22 mark, you mention and run Raw_PG _Calculate and then at the 4:19 mark, you mention Net_Ratings_Cycle yet at the 4:27 mark you assign Raw_PG_Calculate to the macro button and execute the button again. In doing so, the values on ADJ_Analysis sheet remains consistent with your video. But if I ran Net_Ratings_Cycle it changes. I am asking this question as you assigned New_Ratings to the button in videos 3 and 4. Can you please comment if I should be using Net_Ratings_Cycle? Again, thanks for sharing these concepts.

Check out the macros in the description of video 5. Raw_PG_Calculate is the first macro of the set of macros for the Cycle macro. Only for the sheet in Video 5.
