One critique of the video----> there is a difference between methods and methodology. Qualitative and Quantitative are methodologies not methods. Research methods are the tools, techniques or processes that we use in our research. These might be, for example, surveys, interviews, or participant observation. Methods and how they are used are shaped by the methodology. The methodology on the other hand is the study of how research is done, how we find out about things, and how knowledge is gained. In other words, methodology is about the principles that guide our research practices. Methodology therefore explains why we’re using certain methods or tools in our research. Often times students are confused of the meaning of both and fail to see the difference of methods and methodologies.

Sociologists generally choose from widely used methods of social investigation: primary source data collection such as survey, participant observation, ethnography, case study, unobtrusive observations, experiment, and secondary data analysis, or use of existing sources

Is this a high school course? She made a few references to high school and a population of 3000 but her profile is 'Profressor Melendez'. It's a good introduction for a dummy like me, regardless.
