This 'intro' to subtractive synth is better than almost all of the YT videos claiming to be 'advanced'. I've been doing production for 30 odd years and rarely do I see YT videos that make me genuinely listen. I have a korg workstation. These pieces often exist on different pages in the menus. I get so confused when I’m making adjustments, sometimes they don’t even change anything audibly! Having this visualization of how sound is being bused helps a lot, thank you! Love the screaming dude osc, haha.

Is the LFO always running like the oscillator, or is it triggered the moment I press a key?

It could be either one! Most LFO's have an "R" button (for "retrigger") to turn that option on or off. People disactivate Retrigger if they want to keep the sound moving organically. People activate Retrigger if they want predictable "wubs", like dubstep growls :)
