That long flathead screwdriver will be a legend soon. Sell it on Ebay - Tuned 1000 000 suspension haha !

I love Dave Moss's straight forward approach and dedication. Hes able to communicate very well and explain what's happening and how to fix the bike so it rides the way it was engineered. I will forward this to Alex from MC Commute as he was very sketched out on the front end pogoing in his ride video at same event.

Thanks for forwarding this to assist MC Commute with his riding experience aboard an R7. Hope it helps Alex!

Dave Which grease do you use to eliminate stiction in seals ,is Silicone grease good for fork use ,& what's different in a seal grease
@catalystreactionsbw3 жыл бұрын
Silicone grease is excellent, and many seal greases have similar chemistry to that. Your choice!

@davemoss do you feel the stock suspension is sufficient enough for a novice to intermediate rider on track?
@catalystreactionsbw3 жыл бұрын
Yes if you weigh 120-160lbs/54-72kgs. Art some point 10w or 15w fork oil will be needed sooner rather than later.

Quik tire pressure question , if my street bike manual says 40psi rear 36psi front should I be putting them at that or just below before going for a street ride ?
@catalystreactionsbw3 жыл бұрын
Those are cold pressures and you are looking for a 3-4psi gain when hot.

Dave, I am a new rider and I have a question about tire pressure. I have a 2017 Kawasaki Vulcan S and reading my owners manual call for the tires to be at 32 psi front and 36 psi back but the side wall of the tires calls for a different psi of 40 psi. which one should I go by. thanks in advance.
@catalystreactionsbw3 жыл бұрын
32/36 would be your minimum, 40 your maximum. Test 32/36, 34/34 and 36/38 to see what YOU prefer in ride quality.

When you clearly having dive issues, why do you adjust the damping settings and not the preload ? Damping is just for slowing and controlling the motion, would of fought you would need more spring tension(preload) better alternative would of been a different set of springs but I understand you don’t have that ability with this test.
@catalystreactionsbw3 жыл бұрын
Both work in tandem so it is necessary to find the balance point between preload and compression especially based on oil age. Preload set initial travel eg: 20-25mm from bottom out, then find compression setting for oil movement.
@ct96833 жыл бұрын
@@catalystreactionsbw damping works in tandem for controlling the motion of when you adjust spring tension, more tension = more control. In this circumstance I would of changed out springs from 9nm to 9.5nm to compensate the heavy breaking zones in this track but will require somewhat heavier damping. Problem I found in the past using compression to counter dive was harshness mid corner due to overdamping. These comments aren’t a dig, just questions on how you get to your final set up fo ethos circuit alone, I completely understand you are limited on damping and spring tension let alone the cheap oil that goes in these forks from factory to work with

@@catalystreactionsbw what sag points are you working with on this bike ? I’m interested as hopefully will run one on the minitwin class next season and I enjoyed the mt07 platform with the right upgrades
@catalystreactionsbw3 жыл бұрын
@@ct9683 We tend to run 30-35mm front and rear to start to keep the chassis level. Then sag changes based on rider style/skills to provide them with a set up that meets that.
@ct96833 жыл бұрын
@@catalystreactionsbw what would the reason be changing sag instead of making geometry changes to suit riders style and needs ? I understand some riders prefer a softer set up than others.
