Introducing a Mated Queen Bee to the Hive

Had a queen bee die last winter. Going to introduce a mated queen bee I picked up from a local beekeeper. This is the first time I have ever done this but going to sum up what I have researched and it into use during this video. Thanks for watching!

Hey. Great video. Personally, I have lost way too many queens by the way of introduction. Again, personally, I find that by using a push-in cage to keep the queen caged for 5-7 days increasing her acceptance rate by 80%. But hoping this worked for you.

Adding a queen to a queenless hive tonight- she'll be in one of those california queen cages but I think with the sugar plug instead of just that plastic one. I've read mixed reviews on how introductions go with this type of cage. I am really hoping for results like you got! I read that I'm suppose to not check the hive for a week after putting the queen cage in there, but then you checked it after 72 hours and released her. I think I may use that approach as well.

I ordered three bees for $300 and they never showed up call the man about him he told me he needs all he can get and I told him I'd like to have three he said I bet you would I'll let you know how it work out. That's when I really understood when he talked about making a lot of money off Queens everybody paid for him and he just kept them

I’d think your queen swarmed late last season and they failed to requeen. You added sugar to a nearly honey bound and bee packed colony the same vid that you removed the fully capped swarm cell
