The NSW Government invites you on the dynamic journey of students engaged in the 'Aussie Kids Growing Koala Food Trees' program, developed and delivered by Port Macquarie Landcare.
Discover how students actively contributed to koala habitat conservation and restoration. With the guidance of dedicated Landcare volunteers, children grew koala food trees from seeds on school grounds. Through a combination of hands-on learning activities and engaging classroom presentations, students learned about the vital role of koala habitats and the significance of native tree species.
The program is aligned with the NSW curriculum to suit upper Primary. Witness the impact of this innovative program, inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards along the way. While this program is currently offered in the Hastings Region, the program’s potential for expansion to new communities is under exploration.
