Thanks Retronyms and Akai pro! I use the impc pro for my refugee workshops and it was a super nice move from the company to provide free codes for the people! EPIC move guys!! Just epic!! Thank you very much from my students too! A couple of things came to my mind: Impc Pro 2 needs Android compatability - that way you could triple the userbase! AudioBus3 support would come in handy too. An option for the slider in main screen to keep it in place and set back to 0 on double tap would be nice for tweaking kits while fingerdrumming on a controller (I take that back if it is assignable via midilearn already) A few settings for the autoduck would be cool, especially since the MPC live has no sidechainfeature yet ;) AND: We need more bars (128) per sequence pleeeeease ;) So far it is looking great. Excited to see what you do with it in the future! Cheerz!! Question: Is Impc pro 2 controlable via the MPC Live surface via cck and usb orloghtning cable? Did anyone manage to use the mpc live as audio interface for the ipad yet?

By giving the software a upgrade and make it even stronger ! Maybe even allow it to link to new DJ algorithm AI At end of the day I’m going to push the impc to its limits !

You do great how to videos for iMPC pro because you know it so well, among other things like you speak well and explain very well. Please make many videos for iMPC pro 2. It will pay off because it’s an easy app to use once you catch on, but people need you to show off all of it. I know you made plenty for the version 1.5 and before but you have to make fresh ones. Fantastic release. I use an iPad Pro 12.9 and the 16 pads are very small. Much smaller than the previous iMPC Pro. Is there a setting to change pad size?

In the previous version we simply scaled all the UI larger. iMPC Pro 2 actually supports the different screen sizes properly. We thought the pad size was more ergonomic, but you're not the first to ask about this. I think we'll make them larger in future updates /JP

i can understand the allure to have it 'responsive' across all the different style iOS tablets. I was sold on the 12.9 especially for the size of the instruments in relation to my fat fingers. I am experimenting right now with using my SP-16 as a controller for and with the iMPC Pro 2.

Just downloaded I tried to use it with the AKAI element and its not working. However you're first version is working with the element. Why? all you had to do was pretty much copy and paste that functionality into the update. Is there a fix?

yes my isem appears, but not so the imini and iprophet and also not other audio units.Also from Korg, ms 20, polisix, wavestation. And the crazy thing is , in Garage Band they all appear, they are correctly installed. Also the question why audio units from 3rd party companies not appear, cause they are not installed from appstore ? Can I not use them on Ipad ? I am new in this whole Apple Ios for music, and maybe I have more to learn, but this is quite confusing.

Hey I really appreciate what you guys are doing here. But There's gotta be more people, producers using this app to create music. Beatmaker 3 is kicking your ass. You only made 2 videos on iMPC Pro 2? What I want to know is whether or not iMPC Pro 2 has the same capability as Beatmaker 3 as a DAW. I get how to program beats/drums. What about keyboards/synths? Where do you go to use plugins for those? Can you edit vocals other than to cut and paste? Like pitch corrections? What if I wanted to record my guitar or Rhodes piano (real one) into it? What other plugins can you use to make it sound even more professional? Or is this more for a sound demo/sketch? I wanna use MPC sounds, you know? But if Beatmaker 3 is a better platform as a DAW then I might have to give up using iMPC Pro 2....

encdee it has a midi learn function and you can save several midi maps. It also has an “mpc midi mode” that auto maps to certain mpc controllers (MPC Element like)

If I'm using a generic third party midi controller (not an MPC Element, etc.) will I be able to assign things like transport controls, open 16 levels, undo, over dub, etc? Or will I just be able to assign the pads to trigger samples and sounds that are on the pads? If generic midi controllers can't do this, are the pre-programed Akai products like the Element able to control these features?

What about the ability to add MIDI files? MIDI scores? For example… Let’s say on my computer I use like a groove extractor to break down a particular drum break and then I want to load that into IMPC in order to use those MIDI notes but add my own drums to the sounders, can we do that? Great video bro and the app is really awesome! Can you please make a video detailing how to make programs into separate tracks to have more individual control for volume and effects? I’m really still learning the MPC style of making beats so this would be great! Also perhaps the dev team could someday add an effects return knobby per pad option in the tweak page. This would add a ton of effect flexibility with tracks and per pad. Looking forward to all that’s in store for this great app!

Hello JP, Great video! Would you know if it’s possible to set up a KMI softstep 2 with the iMPC on an ipad mini 4? I need to play already made loops live while playing the guitar. Q. Can I set up the iMPC and the Softstep to: play loop 1 by pressing button one on the Softstep which is mapped to button 1 on the iMPC and by pressing button 2 on the Softstep it finishes loop 1 and starts playing loop 2 on the iMPC etc... I would also need to play one-shots over these loops by pressing any other button. Any help appreciated Cheers

it works with MPC Element (there's a MPC Mode switch in the Midi menu). For clock sync we support Ableton Link. Pads lining up and banks switching: I may not understand. Can you elaborate? /JP

I’ve owned the mpc element and the mpd218. The mpd218 pads didn’t corespondent with the correct midi ccs. The element was just plug and play. I’m mostly interested in the start and stop buttons and the ability to use the midi out from my element to sequence my synth.

I can answer that.. If you use element as midi map input.. the START STOP wont work.. If you select "Legacy Element Mode" it will.. I run an Element and a MPK Mini through my Wej. There was always the issue with selecting bank B and the Element playing everything from A and B at the same time. So depending on which mode you want you get them separate.. but you lose the start/stop. Just play around with it.. Youll see what I mean. REMEMBER to put your element into LOW POWER MODE by holding down TAP as you plug it in

John Z Thanks for the reply. I think I’m gonna stick with my padkontrol. The stop and start and bank buttons were very helpful in the original iMPC. I’m used to my padkontrol now so going back isn’t worth it without those features.

I deleted tracks I wasn’t using and it started freaking out. Like solo track on, but everything was still playing. And now I can’t open that project at all. It crashes the app. I was so happy I figured out how to delete a track, but now I wish I never did. I really was happy with the direction that project was going. I love the app. I just thought I’d let you guys know about this bug and I hope there is a way I can open this project again. Sad day.

You have to export the samples from Audioshare to Audiocopy, and then paste them from there inside the app

You can only if it's compatible with iOS 14 upgrade. I've been researching certain apps and most of the ones you may like is not compatible. Now if you just want to get samples out of audioshare here's how. Select track for beat pad..go to tweak...hit audioshare..thats where you can buy packs. It will show a library of choices.

I'm so glad I waited and didn't get the previous version of the app. This newer version is great. I keep hearing of bugs but I haven't encountered any so far, so I suppose they got ironed out in the weeks following the release? Only thing missing for me is Dropbox/Audioshare support and Audiobus. Audiocopy just means taking an extra step when importing samples, which is already tedious as there's no batch import function. And I know you can sample directly from IAA and don't need Audiobus but that doesn't help if what you're trying to sample is live external sounds through a USB-audio interface: there's no way to select that audio input channel as opposed to the built-in mic. Hence the need for Audiobus. I liked the previous colour-scheme better though, with the MPC grey and the red. So pretty. The colour-scheme now is too brash, it would be nice to get to pick the app skin. But blimey, this app has all the features I was looking for in an all-in-one sampler app, and for the most part it's pretty straightforward to use. Happy customer here.

Haha, my music sucks you don't want to hear it trust me. I'll give you a good rating on the store though. I take back the part about batch import, I just saw a video where someone was doing multi-paste with Audiocopy. That's great. Dropbox support would be nice in order to save space though. Any chance you might implement audio channel select from class compliant audio interfaces, or Audiobus support? I really want to use this app to sample my string instruments live through my Zoom U-24. It'd make a huge difference. Thanks!

There are several options. You can copy the sound with AudioCopy and share it in any number of way (including posting to youtube, etc). You can archive/export the project and send to another iMPC Pro 2 user. You can also export stems or a a full mixdown .wav that you can send. Lots of options. I hope this helps /JP

Go to song and change your bar length it's all right there. You can also screw the track where the bmp area is. It's an awesome app. I've made numerous tracks already..
