This is old commenting but...easiest way to turn on and off, at least with my Galaxy, is to press a volume key on the side of the phone and when the long volume bar pops up, click the 3 buttons next to each other at the top of the volume bar and that then brings you to all your volume bars popped up. System, media, notifications, ringtone. On one top corner there is a settings wheel button but on the other side (usually left) there's a little chat box icon. Click it to turn this feature on or off. A strike through the chat box means it's not enabled. It unstriked means it's on.

Does anyone know if this or any other app will work on an Android smart TV, for live TV viewing? This is such an obvious need, and yet I can't seem to find anything that will do it. Speech recognitiom is so good now, that the rate of transcription errors is now broadly tolerable.

please confirm that this live caption will also work with "audio calling"? you know... most people treat it as a phone, ear to speaker, mouth to microphone. As hard of hearing but can speak, I hope live caption will work with audio calling. So that I "see" what has been said and I will respond with "speaking" directly to person on the other end. Yes this is brilliant news for all those who are hard of hearing and totally deaf. (of course this could be useful for those who's learning to speak another language)

I really hope it does. That would be a huge game changer! That's one of the biggest reasons I have such a hard time with phone calls; so much that I dread them and actively avoid them. I think it makes life a lot more difficult than most people without these issues realize.
