Thank you so much for doing this work. I still work without substancepainter. My Dream comes true if we can one time texturize/paint in blender like substancepainter. This is the way to go, thank you so much, great work Sir!

One step closer to not needing Substance Painter.
@Dominik-sn5rj4 жыл бұрын
Combine it with layer painter and Substance can go delete itself
@L0ckeness5 жыл бұрын
Incredible. My only suggestion would be some UI work to add a layers interface. While the nodes work fine, the majority of artists (substance users) are more familiar with layers.

This makes texture blending and masking so much clear and easier. Blender workflow for texture painting is not easy task especially for beginners. Thank you so much for sharing!

I think every blender user should have this add-on!It can do any complex thing in blender.And it's really convenient to have displacement map blending which is not common to see in other similar add-ons!

This looks incredible! I would love to play around with it. I am currently working on a large landscape scene for film (about a 2-3 mile radius) and need the ability to paint in several textures. This looks like it might be great for that. Am wondering if you have any specific tips for working on a ‘larger’ model like landscape. I am a pretty proficient 3D artist but find I still struggle with how to effectively create detailed textures on large models like landscapes effectively. At any rate, great work! It is add ons like this that make Blender so awesome.

For some reason it's not working. Whenever I added the edge detect node it didn't really do anything at all. But I'm sure i'll figure it out, this is a fantastic addon

This addon can help to fulfill the jigsaws of Substance Painter alternatives.

What's the difference between Node2Code custom nodes and Node Wrangler's node groups?
@dimitrilalushi46934 жыл бұрын
Why not enrich the edge detect mask (with options like detecting the concave and convex edges seperately and adding to it an 'edge degree selection' option too) and selling it seperately in a smaller price? There would be so many people that would buy it, given that Blender still has not such a shading tool.

Amazinggg!
@SteveErnst1175 жыл бұрын
looks good! I think the main downside in my opinion is needing to save every painted mask as a texture file...which is really an issue with blender itself, not so much your addon.

How did you make the node Connections curvy like in 2.79 ? Mine are just straight lines
@WaywardArtCompany5 жыл бұрын
The settings are in user preferences, but I can't remember where. I just looked and can't seem to locate them.
@Gorgious5 жыл бұрын
It is in user preferences > Themes > Node Editor > Noodle curving (0 is straigth, higher is more curvy)
@dimitrilalushi46935 жыл бұрын
Is there somewhere an option for detecting only the outwardly directed edges (the reverse of the 'cavity only' in the edge detection node)? It is important to have such an option also, because it will make possible to differentiate the 'dirt' and 'wear' areas on an object. As is known the 'dirt' goes to the cavities and the 'wear' to the outwardly directed edges.

Je dois tout faire pour avoir cet add-on légalement. Aucun add-on ne m'a autant ému. I must do my best to have this add-on legally. There are not an add-on which make me pleasure. You make a great work. Must buy this one

OK, I know this is probably noob info, but how do you bake out the textures for use in games? Particularly, I need the final colour texture, the normal map, and a specular map. I just can't seem to find the actual how-to on it, just that you can lol. Yeah, I'm a bit of a noob :P

@adikavi5 жыл бұрын
Hi, will you add an no procedural mask in the future as well ? I mean to connect, for instance, a custom texture map to the Edge Detect. thx
@1ard1035 жыл бұрын
well for each input on the edge detect node you can actually plug a texture in. itll be a bit unconventional. but mess around with it. might give ya the look yer lookin for.

How add my own dirt texture in edge detect?
@japrogramer5 жыл бұрын
Hello, I would like to use blender to load some files into a collection. If I am working on our json files and they have texture position rotation uv and vertices information. Are there any simple code snippets on how to add a model into blender like so? And also how to add them into a collection?
@eleniel005 жыл бұрын
I think it's best to ask the Blender developers. You can ask them anything to do with coding here: devtalk.blender.org . Good luck!

I just purchased your plugin and I couldn't get it to open in Blender 2.80 or 2.79 using Linux mint 64bit. I moved your compressed plugin to a folder I used for all my plugins and went into bender 2.80 and under the the preferences I selected your plugin and selected install. It didn't show up anywhere on the preference list or in the work environment when pressing the "N" key. help!!
@WaywardArtCompany5 жыл бұрын
You need to unzip the folder to get the addon. When you do, there will be three files. A pdf, a folder of textures, and the addon.
@Everyday_Foreman5 жыл бұрын
@@WaywardArtCompany I did what you said and it worked great. I moved the images folder out of the downloaded zip folder and used the zip file located inside for the addon and all is well. Thanks so much!!

The edge detect node ramps up my RTX 2070 to 100% usage which renders the viewport inoperable in eevee. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKDKgqh9jpabidk . Not a problem with cycles so I can live with it. But would be great if that could be fixed at some point.

This is good but it's a time saver not an essential add-on. I think $35 is a bit steep.
