Very cool that you get to work with him! We have a blue throated macaw at our local zoo and they are working on conservation of the species as well. Amazing that we get a second chance to save these incredible birds.

I have a mixture of bought, adopted and bred by ourselves. Erm I think if someone fully understands them and is prepared to commit then fab!

This species is rare hand it over to an authorized breeding center.

Indeed they are in the wild, however the species is thriving in captivity. One day he will go on to breed, currently he is too young. He is however an ambassador bird for a conversation organisation and does his bit to raise awareness of the struggles that his wild ancestors face.
