Looong comment, sorry, I've had rats for about 5 years, and I don't live with my family, but they know it from the start, and they, except for my mom, still aren't as ok I would like them to be, at this point they mostly ignore the fact, they still don't understand it and honestly I don't think they ever will so I don't talk about rats with them. My mom is the most ok with me having rats, she's trying to understand, as much as she can, so she's ok with me having them, but I don't know if she would let me have them if I had to move back home, I don't think she'd be thrilled 😂 anyway, I hope your family will be ok with that, although if your mom hates rodents, I don't think that will change, I just hope you won't have to go home or somewhere for a few days at a time, because you can't leave them for that long alone, I hope you have something planned for when you're going somewhere where you can't bring them. And about people, try not to mind much if your family, or everyone else talk nasty about rats, I got used to it, so it doesn't bother me anymore, but I would love if my family completely except it, it still bothers me a bit if someone from my family says something bad. I hope you get sweet, healthy babies, update please 😄

At approx. the six minute mark in the video the rats were moved from the carrier to the slightly larger cage (white bars and greenish colored bottom); then a few seconds later video cuts to "Next Morning" -- should I give food during the time they are in the small cage, or just water? Would food in small cage give them something to argue over, so just give water? I know there was food available in the next cage (blue bottom/white bars, at approx 7:30), but wondered if restricting food in previous cage (smaller) helps by giving them one less thing to 'argue' about -- I hope that makes sense, ha-ha. Thank you for your time and assistance.

@@shfhjdhdudyevrv I have two white ones who are named Aka and Kuro (so Red and Black in Japanese) because one has red eyes and the other black ones. The other two are named Shoku (the beginning of “dark grey” in Japanese) and Yoru (night in Japanese, because black was already taken) and they are grey and black :) Yeah I had no inspiration when I decided this- So I had to introduce the two oldest (Aka and Kuro) with the two youngest (Shoku and Yoru) and it was great ! They didn’t fight (or at least not in front of me) and even if they were a bit distant it changed in no time :3 PS:Yes i know it’s long, and sorry if it has a lot of mistakes, I’m only starting to learn English and I’m french so, like, the names of l’y gerbils might sound a bit weird in English :/

@@zaydin1897 you did great with your English! I have 5, but 2 separate from the other 3. My three adult boys are Mochi, Carrot, and Chewy. And my juveniles are Teddy and Nacho! I love the names for yours! Puts my names to shame 🤣

In two weeks time I will be introducing 3 baby boys (one of which is a dwarf) to a lonely senior boy. And then if all goes to plan, merge the four of them with a my main mischief of 4 spayed females and 2 intact boys for a total of 10 harmonious rattos.
