I can see a huge benefit from the port fuel injection option as a way to keep the back of the valves clean, as direct injection doesn’t address that issue which potentially can become a serious issue with higher mileage.

You can’t not tune this intake if you want to take full advantage of it. The parameters are altered enough making it a requirement. It’s no different with a quality set of headers on nearly all vehicles with fuel injection, carburetors, whatever.

Great explanation on the overall design of this billet manifold! From design, machining and final assembly and test! The heat soak issue being addressed shows attention to details on the total design! This manifold would be a killer if the engine had twin turbos - it would be interesting to have this manifuld on some of the aftermarket tuners that are running twin turbos! Not sure what manifolds they are running but I'd think this would be beneficial. Also, just for comparison as the overall concept and design has been proven, how would a 3-D printed manifold made of high temp resistant polymer perform? I'd imagine it would be the same except it would be lighter! Great job guys!!!
@tedjones-ho2zk6 ай бұрын
I wonder if the manifold was ceramic coated inside and out if that would prevent heat soak, or at least reduce it.

Id sleep with taht next to me lol Cant believe the size of the ports, and the power todays stuff makes with teeny cams, mpg etc. Never woulda guessed!! Remember the C5Z and C6Z...figured that 427 was as good as it was gonna get Congrats guys! Wish I could do some porting for ya! PS ...do those runners have taper to them such as a typical ls removable runner? Curious

Skip to 11:20. He says 5-10 hp over the stock manifold with a stock tune. 23-28 hp with new intake and tune. Never mentioned tuning the stock intake combination. I'm calling shenanigans
@nickarh92674 ай бұрын
Wilson is an extremely reputable company and I can assure you, shenanigans aren’t in their vocabulary. This intake provides a dramatic increase in air flow over stock. Tuning is a must if you want to take full advantage of what this intake is capable of. Headers will be the icing on the cake.

It’s just an intake manifold. Very easy to install on a NA car. Almost nothing is carb compliant which is ridiculous because all this is doing is improving flow. Just install it my guy if you have a new vette, you won’t have to do smog check until 7 years after it’s new.
