I sure do love your bottle babies. On your squeeze chute, you don’t want to add anything onto it, that requires drilling holes, because that will null a void your warranty. Having it connected to the alley way like you first showed I think would be perfect.

Watching sweet Buddy immediately come to the bottle calves nearly brought a tear to my eyes! Makes you wonder if he had flashbacks to when he was a little boy like they are and dependent on you as their "adopted mama"!🥰 I like to think that maybe Buddy will take them "under his wing" and be their protector as they acclimate into the herd!❤

It was good to see Brie, Maci and Matt. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Good to see Cali and Bellie, too. I thought it was so cute that Buddy came right up to them. It’s funny I didn’t think of him thinking about the bottle. I was thinking that he knew what they felt like not having their mom. Maybe it was both. But it just goes to show how well you take care of all you animals that they remember your caring.

Older cows will babysit them. If you watch cattle on a daily basis, you'll see them take turns between coming to feed and other cows feeding their calves. Plus if their milk bag is sore (full) they will become a milk machine open to anyone 😅

Those folks suggesting genetic testing for parentage have a great idea! And the price per animal is pretty reasonable too. As for the bottle feeders, I wouldn't be surprised to see one or both stealing sips off of unsuspecting cows...

Hold the bolt and turn the nut. Hopefully one or a few of your cows will allow the bottle calves to nurse. It's not unusual to see momma cows nursing calves that aren't theirs, it happens. Sometimes cows will even let other mature cattle nurse (Shorthorn esp) and almost impossible to break the bad habits. I sure am jealous of your lifestyle there Tyler. Your awesome little family and critters and all the hard work. I'm sure you realize how lucky you are to live this way ... good job 👍👍

The black ones head went up when u tagged 😅. They feel it either way its just these 2 are used to u. My dad would explain it as long term its helping them because he knows who's the mother in case there are problems down the line. The tags we used also controlled flies. He would also say if it wasn't for him putting that bull into the pasture, the Calf wouldn't exist anyway so he owes him a ear tag 😂
