old plumber's trick: Stuff bread into the pipe to keep any residual water from cooling the area you want to heat or solder. When done the bread will break up and disappear. Works every time and smells like toast!

I think fixing your fence was a great accomplishment that you did. It was truly in the need of repair. The new puppy seems to be adjusting well with Callie and she is learning. Have you thought about using a slam-latch on your gate? We have a few gates with them and they are really nice. Get the cows in, grab the gate and swing it. The latch automatically latches.

Suggestion , if you're truck has a trailer draw bar hitch , add a 12-15 inch draw bar , weld a steel plate on it , bolt down a vise that you can help in the fields , this may make the job easier !!

Spraypaint a vertical line on the tin above the new junction and a number of inches below the surface. I'll make it a lot easier when you inevitability need to do repairs.

Easy way to wrap PTFE tape - stick your right index finger in the hole of the roll with the tape end on the bottom of the roll. Then have your pipe thread pointing to the right and wound tape around the pipe while the tape roll around your finger, also that way the tape will not roll off as you are tightening the socket or union or whatever. Hope its understandable what i am trying to say.

I used to use a pail of hot water heated by using a Coleman stove to keep water hot when I was faced with cool days in Calgary, Alberta. . . . Then I would plunge the poly pipe into the water so it would be easier to install the inserts. I developed carpal tunnel syndrome by pushing on the inserts if the pipe was too cold. . . . We live and learn.

You need to just buy cornbread and baking soda mix half and half in a ziplock. Then put it in a container that they can access. It won't hurt anything else either.believe me it sounds so simple but it really works.

While waiting for the bull's water to refill, you will occasionally wonder if a high flow hose bibb worth while? Unfortunately, if you are like me, the improvement will never quite seem quite enough to do. Perhaps when you need another hose bibb you will buy a high flow to put w/ bulls and use this one on the new project.
