I got a 2020 classic 350. I love the kick that new ones don't have. Indeed it's not fast but it sure has its own soul, full of character.
@ricksroyalrides1232 ай бұрын
I agree. The newer 350's are great bikes. Very smooth and, probably a better bike. But they have lost the kick start and the character of the old one. Happy ridings.

Those 500s are awesome bikes!! I have the 350 reborn and the 500 - both as the classic. Both bikes are great in their own right!
@ricksroyalrides123Ай бұрын
Yup. I agree. The 350 is a lot more usable as a daily ride, but the 500 has all the character. Happy riding.

Hi Rick, few upgrades I would suggest: 1- iridium spark plug. 2- K&N air filter. 3- Hitchcocks 50's silencer (with baffles fitted) other wise far too loud leaving your ears will be buzzin. nice 1 m8

Cheers Paul. I'll have a look into those over winter. Happy riding mate. 👍

I have just bought one and it arrives in two days. Love the sound but I think my other bikes will soon get jealous. My first big bike in 1966 was a '61 350 bullet so it's full circle for me.

If you stop to think about which bikes give you the most unique riding experience, this one has got to be up there. It's debatable if it's a *good* riding experience, but unique definitely. I'll have to source one for myself some day. I agree with you on the 350, I'm sure they're great but they're that bit more refined. 500 is diamond in the rough, very rough lol
@ricksroyalrides1232 ай бұрын
Spot on. I can't wait to fix the fuel pump and get it on the road. Just waiting on the part. If I was having a bad day, I'd always hop on my 500 bullet and it would never fail to put a smile on my face. Happy ridings.

I got a 2017 bullet, I've changed the bars to slightly wider/higher/swept back, lighter bar end weights and lighter mirrors, to my surprise it cut the vibration down at least 70% 👍🏼
@ricksroyalrides1232 ай бұрын
That's interesting. I put trail handlebars on my old bullet to make it a bit more comfortable. I also added Oxford heated grips which made me feel the vibes more through the bars! This one has grip puppies which helps. Happy riding and thanks for your comments. 👌

Will be LED bulbs in the instrument cluster. Make sure they have not put LED warning bulb in the high beam and speedo otherwise it is way to bright at night. I have two of these and a Super Meteor and I'm based in Crawley. I take it you are in TW?
@ricksroyalrides1232 ай бұрын
Hi John. They all looked pretty bright, much brighter than my old bullet which you could barely see, sorry it wouldn't surprise me about the LEDs. I'll have to see what it's like at night. Have to sort the fuel pump issue out 1st, so she's off the road atm. I'm based in Maidstone but used to life in tw. Picked the bike up from East Grinstead so not too far from you. 👍

Congratulations; she's a beauty. Shame about the fuel pump but sh"t happens. I'm moving home to the UK after living abroad and feel that there's time for one more bike. The short list is the new BSA Goldstar, RE Interceptor and now the RE500 classic / Bullet. I do quite like the Interceptor, but I've always had a soft spot for big singles. What is your opinion regarding the RE500 for a bit of sedate touring, I do want to get out and about a bit, including the NC500 at some point and coming from Cornwall, that's going to be a fair old jant. Loved the ride out /home. That sound never gets old. Subscribed.
@ricksroyalrides1232 ай бұрын
Thanks @cousinjack2841 I would think it's totally doable. I'm in Wales atm touring with my wife on a RE scram. You have to manage your expectations on what is comfortably achievable. Your journey to the NC is about 16 hours, avoiding motorways. I would say plan for a 2 week trip. 3 days up there, 7 days around the NC, and 3 getting back. It would be smoother on one of the newborn 350's but I can't think of a more enjoyable bike to do the NC 500 on than the classic 500. Like you say, that sounds never gets old. Good luck and thank you for subscribing. 👍

Great video. Lovely bike. You can pick the fuel pumps up at half the price if you order from India so I've read. I have a 2020 Classic 500 and love it! They really benefit from having a Fuel X Lite kit fitted. It richens the fuel/air mixture back to where it should be and the engine runs smoother and cooler. I've also fitted a DNA air filter and iridium spark plug, together with a full stainless steel de-cat exhaust and downpipe from Hitchcocks. Your Hagon rear shocks are pretty much the best there is for these bikes. Not cheap either but well worth it so I'm told 🙂
@ricksroyalrides1232 ай бұрын
Ahh, that's good re the shocks. They certainly seem better than stock although they weren't good enough to iron out the bumps for the fuel pump. ☹️ Reckon that's what happened. I believe they share the same pump as a Himalayan and I've seen them for under £60 from India. Those other mods are pretty much the only things I'd consider spending money on, over time. Otherwise I'll enjoy it for what it is. Thanks for watching and your comment. 👍

If Enfiled re-releases the Bullet 500 (Not the crappy Reborn engine), I would purchase it in an instant. I regret not getting a Bullet 500 before and had to settle for a Speed 400. The exhaust note of the Bullet 500 is pure eargasm.
@ricksroyalrides1232 ай бұрын
They won't ever release the 500 again. There are spy shots out of a classic 650, so that will be the next one , which of course will be nothing like the 500. I tried a speed 400 but found the engine too revy for me and opted for the scram. There are good deals to be had on used low mileage 500's though, so a good time to buy. 😉 Ps, I enjoyed my test ride on the reborn but you're right about the 500 exhaust note. 👍

You would never get away with parking on the sidewalk in America. England and Europe is roads are too small for cars. Two-way traffic on the lane 1 1/2 cars wide simply foolish. It is a pity that Europe tried to follow America's infatuation with the automobile.😢@@ricksroyalrides123

How long have you had the scram? Maybe the time is right?! I went the other way. Had a bullet for 5 years, then sold and bought a scram. Then I missed the thump of the bullet, so bought the classic. I'm sure you'll love the 500. Enjoy your ride.
