Introducing the File Browser in Photomator 3.3

Congrats to the team for this great release 🙌 Photomator is getting more and more amazing and I really enjoy using it. I am still missing some features but I know some of them will be coming in the next versions: - Tags (with hierarchy) & flags - Dehaze filter - Export tool with many more features (transform file name with prefix and sequence, watermark, metadata removal, etc.) - A picture "info" pane with editable metadata (EXIF, etc.) - HDR Merge - Filter photos based on properties (aperture, etc.) - History of edits on the photo with snapshots and easy way to go back This is a long list, and I know that some of them are coming next :)

Yay Pixel/Photo-mator team for the win, *again*! 🙌 In all seriousness the process seems to be a joy, thanks for your constant care towards UX. One question, though: in Pixelmator the keyboard shortcuts aren't all ideal (or even… working, for some of them) on non-US keyboards. Not sure what the situation regarding this is in Photomator, but it would be a great help for workflow is they worked flawlessly and were very easy to use (ie. in Capture One it's incredibly and fast to adopt a keyboard-first workflow when editing a shoot) Cheers :)

This is an huge update and works so well! It's also incredibly fast. I was just editing a bunch of high rez (15000 x 10000 px) film scans with Photomator and it handled them like an absolute champ never missing a beat. Of course there's many things still missing like better photo comparison tools, selective copy/paste adjustments, the ability to assign and convert color profiles etc. But so far so good!

Wow...amazing, this is like what Aperture should've been when they redid Photos. Love it! Fantastic and brilliant ideas! I love the fact that we're able to edit in the context of the file system! This will make editing collaboration on a cloud network a breeze!

This is a huge powerful step!! I can now see hundreds if not thousands of photos. But without anyway to apply star ratings or tag just falls short of this app being a pristine sunrise of wonder!! But i love the effort you all have made and please keep on being amazing!!!

Can you select what adjustments you want to copy/paste on other photos. Something like in Lightorrom. Also would be great to have select photos by mouse for sync settings rather then copy/paste one by one. Doable?

Can this be used as a witch way to find every photo/video on an old messy whole-computer backup and; export/copy those to an external drive as a way to avoid the need of indexing + smart folder for this?

You can set up custom export workflows just the way you need by clicking "More Workflows" and adjusting the settings to your liking.

When you export an image, is it the edited image or the original? Didn't see any options.

I've turned on 'modify originals' but I'm still getting Photomator Edit Documents created alongside the jpgs. Am I missing something?

It does not work well with iPadOS and iOS with google drive. It works with iCloud Drive though

Which feature are you thinking about specifically? On iPhone and iPad, you can already open and work with images from anywhere on your device or external drives. Just switch from the Photos to the Files browser by tapping the gear icon at the top of your screen and selecting your preferred browser under Browser settings. Let us know if you need any help!

Hi! From iPad the photo app browsing is too much better rather than file navigation. It is complicated and not so fluid. In particular, when you have a lot of photos, Photomator creates other .Photo extensions separate from the edited one, so you cannot understand what pictures have been edited or not (lack of preview). And this is a pain when you have a lot of RAW photos. It would be nice to have the same interface between the two modes. 👋

It takes 30 seconds to open the photo folder from the Finder. That is unacceptable! 👎👎👎 RAW photos from my Sony A6700 are not recognised and are only displayed as grey areas. There is no option to mark photos or rate them with stars. The photo browser does not satisfy me at all!

Hey, thanks for reaching out about this. It definitely doesn't sound good. Quick questions: how many photos are in the folder causing issues? And, is this folder on your Mac, an external drive, or in the cloud?

@@PixelmatorVideos 30000 photos and Photomator is preset to display all of them at once, including those in subfolders. Why is that? This is probably the reason why Photomator takes 30 seconds to start. Yes, the photos are on an external, but very fast Thunderbolt SSD.
