Did Nisi improved the threaded adapters? They have been painful for me where I ended up buying a spare filter holder so I can use the Nisi system on two different lenses with different filter sizes. Basically the lens adapter ring with get stuck to the master adapter and you won't be able to remove it unless you tried very hard using something like rubber dishwashing gloves.

The standard aluminium adapters are still the same, but you can upgrade them by buying the new brass adapters which are much nicer and easier to thread. Like you though, I ended up getting two master rings to make switching easier.

Hello Emil, thanks for your video. And how can I turn the polarizer when it is behind the other filters? Thanks for explanation
@emilvonmaltitz8 ай бұрын
Hi Karl. There’s a geared knob (there are actually two of them) that sits on the outside of the master ring. If you spin that with your finger or thumb it rotates the polariser behind the other filters.

How manmy filters does the pouch hold that comes with the kit?
@emilvonmaltitz3 жыл бұрын
Hi Danielson. The pouch with the holder (that comes with teh V7 Holder kit) doesn't hold filters apart from the CPL. If you would like a pouch for multiple filters look at the Filter Pouch Plus which holds 5 100x150mm filters and 5 100x100mm filters (10 in total). The Filter Pouch Plus does come with the Starter Kit Plus, Advanced and Professional Kits though.

Great no nonsense review, Emil. Informative and well presented. I am trying to decide which square filter system to buy. One of my concerns is having a CPL at the back of the adaptor or holder, potentially making it awkward to remove in the field, especially with ND's loaded up front. Has this been an issue for you? Thanks!

Thanks Geoff. Personally I prefer the cpl at the back of the filter stack. I used (and still have, although it’s gathering dust) the Lee holder with 105mm front attached CPL. The rear CPL minimises flare and reduces the air/glass interface distance ( so leas optical issues). The new V7 also makes attaching the CPL significantly easier. Nowadays it’s more down to whethe you’re okay with threaded screw attachment or magnetic mounting (some other brands)

@@emilvonmaltitz Thanks Emil. Really helpful. I was wondering about the Lee system too, so that answers that question!

Someone has experience with shooting video with a nisi filter holder? I'm a photographer 90% of the time and so buying other nd filters for videography it's not worth it
@emilvonmaltitz2 жыл бұрын
Really depends on your needs. I shoot video and stills...a lot of the video I shoot I use a Variable ND for run and gun stuff. If I am doing a timelapse or scenics on a tripod (e.g slow pan) then the holder with GND is fantastic if you are trying to get both still and video from one rig. If, on the other hand, you are shooting with a dedicated video camera setup, then a matt box with cine filters is the way to go...but that costs $$$$ and is large and cumbersome. So personally I've had a lot of success using the holder for video...but it isn't necessaily designed for that purpose; it is primarily a stills photography tool
