as soon as they release a square magnetic filter holder for this they can have my money. Thanks for the video, this was exactly what i was looking for, a landscape based point of view of this new filter system.

Thanks Sabs! Will get back to you this evening about the workshops. Cheers

I appreciate your thoughts on this new system. I invested in the V7 system and like it for the most part (there's no perfect system, of course). If they should engineer and offer an adapter of sorts to merge these two systems, I'd certainly consider it. Nice to see such commentary that is not "over-the-top" and straightforward. I watched many other reviews of Leofoto's LS-324CX, leveling bases and heads before choosing my setup for landscapes and wildlife, for example, and that was how I ultimately found your channel. Well done.

Thanks for the feedback Johnnie! I'm glad not every goes in for the 'brotography style of reviews' (no one would watch my channel if everyone did I suppose ;) ). From what I understand there will be a kind of crossover adapter. That's what we've been told, but I haven't seen anything in person yet. Supposedly end of first quarter next year we might see something.

Great info! Been using the Kase circular magnetic filters for years now and love them. These from Nisi do seem like a bit of a refinement though.

Thanks CM! Ja, I'm happy that Nisi have finally added a magnetic option. Pretty cool stuff coming as well to further build out this magnetic mount.

Jetmag does not appear to work with a lens hood of any kind. It also commits you to the Nisi Lens caps. Even an 82mm cap on the 82mm ring, you still need the Nisi lens cap.

@@v3rlon I don’t know of any filter system that allows use of standard filter hood (except standard threaded filters but then you lose the benefit of a system). Good point about the lens caps, although I personally don’t see that as an issue, but yes…if you want to go all in it means committing to their lens caps (which are not perfect mind you). For me I’m still happy to only use the adapter rings on the lenses I am actively using for a shoot (usually only two, max three) and change adapter if I absolutely have to.

@@emilvonmaltitz Freewell Magnetic System or Kase Wolverine (which are more or less cross compatible). The base ring screws on like a filter with no glass, but is the same size as an empty filter ring. The other filters just fit into that.. They do not stick as well, and a significant bump can dislodge them, but they do not interfere with the use of a lens hood. Also, Kase makes a "blank" you can screw on the back of existing conventional filters so you can attach those magnetically as well, which is nice if you have something like a Solar Filter for the eclipse, and no one has bothered to magnetize one yet. All that said, I like the Jetmag system and am looking to see if I can model and print a filter that will attach.

@@emilvonmaltitz I was able to design and print a lens hood in one afternoon. It isn't perfect and I am working on making it better, but I fed it back up to Nisi to test.

@@emilvonmaltitz Well if you find yourself in Central Texas, I want to make a couple more improvements, and I need to test it at 14mm to make sure it doesn't vignette. It may be a bit long. I have another friend testing as well. Of course the beauty of printing is that I can adjust anything.
