I'm thinking of building Soloist up from the frame and was scouting for parts. This is a super helpful tutorial on the BB for this frame. Will definitely use your BB if I end up doing the build. Wish you all made the headset bearings too. Thanks!

We're definitely avoiding the headset game. BB's are enough to keep up with. The newest Soloists with T47A are the best bikes Cervelo has ever made.

Having installed one of these on a Factor LS, I have a couple of observations/thoughts. First off, if you install it the way it's installed in this video, you cannot tell if you are cross-threading the BB when you install the non-drive side. The fit between the BB shell and drive-side delrin ring is tight (as it should be, since this is basically turning the t47a into a thread on press-fit hybrid), so you have to apply a reasonable amount of force to advance the BB shell from the non-drive side. B/C of this you can't really 'feel' how the threads are engaging. I was taught (perhaps incorrectly?) to hand-thread BBs in place for the first few turns to make sure you are not cross-threading before using a wrench to continue/finish installation. My work around was to install the delrin ring to the point where it would not inhibit hand threading the first few turns of the non-drive side. Then I threaded the delrin ring on the rest of the way, then completed installing the BB from the non-drive side with a wrench. Seems to work great and alleviates the risk of cross-threading. Once installed the BB is fantastic, spins great, stiff, easy to maintain. I would also recommend investing in a Park Tool BBT-47-12. The install is a breeze with it compared to the Delrin tool provided, as I found it was difficult to keep it engaged with the teeth while trying to torque to spec, but have no such issues with the Park Tool. This is the only T47a BB I would buy, it is fantastic, but I found the above steps made installation and regular maintenance significantly more user friendly. Cheers and thanks to BBInfinite for a great product!

This is awesome, I just put in my order for a Soloist but I will try to get something other than the BB Right one or perhaps the one you recommend in this video. This video was very helpful.

Such good advice re the top hat insert, I have been having constant problems with my Bbright BB and shimano chainset where it is steel on steel - constant clicking and creaking

Does your BB tool you ship this BB with work to take off the stock Cervelo BB? if not, what's the Park tool equivalent tool I need to take the Cervelo BB out? Thank you! Looking forward to replacing my stock BB! (Although I'll give Cervelo some credit here. The stock BB seems A LOT better than what they stocked in past. Still not as good as yours but hey..)

You forgot the fitting of the crank axle preload bolt…? Otherwise a mighty fine and extremely helpful video, thank you.

At 9:14 he's got it in his hand and he's greasing it. The video is showing a T47A BB install, not a Shimano crank install. He's what the Shimano install looks like: kzbin.infov3O9sNf8imM?si=QBpOc9IJ5K1X1b7l

How do you get off a drive side internal t47a that has the slots rounded off? I want to replace it with a bb infinite one but can’t get the drive side out. Any tips, I am not fussed if I destroy the current bb

Hey man! I have a question, hope you could help me out. I'm have a hard time finding a T47-A (Asymmetric) - what are my other alternatives? Can I use a T47 then just add spacers? I need your advice. Thanks!

Yes, BBInfinite's T47I module fits two BB standards: T47I and BBRighT-47, thanks to the drive-side cup that slides onto and over the module.

Has anyone ever considered balancing cranks on bikes? With free running bearings the crank always stops in the same place showing it's out of balance
@BBInfinite
@BBInfinite Жыл бұрын
The crank is not spinning fast enough, while being pedaled, to need balancing.

Is it possible to use a T47 inboard for the non drive side and an outboard for the drive side?
@BBInfinite
@BBInfinite 9 ай бұрын
Our BB's are one-piece, hub style modules, not separate pieces. If you're using some generic T47 2-pc system from Ceramicspeed or whoever, then yes, BBRight is outboard on the DS and inboard on the NDS.

Cervelo says the Soloist comes with the JY BBRight T47. Maybe I am misunderstanding but is this not the same as the new 2023 Soloists? What is the version name you shared here?
@BBInfinite
@BBInfinite Жыл бұрын
It's all just T47A. It was introduced by Factor as BB correct, years ago, in the Ostro Vam. And not Cervelo has picked it up. BBright T47 is BBRight T47, no matter what other words they put with it.

Try turning up your volume a little more. This was filmed using a Rhode condenser mic rather than a lavalier mic, so the audio dips a little when he looks away. Learning. It's a process.
