Just a thought, wouldn't it be worth sell the BB with a tapered locator to avoid this?

Hi there, have a question. I have a supercaliber gen 1 with a 92mm press fit bottom bracket with a chainline of 52. I just currently installed a m8100 xt cranks on it as its a 52mm chainline. I dont have any spacers on either side of the crank spindle. When i put the cranks on that little plastic peice just about goes in pretty much at the outer limit of the hole on the spindle. Should i have gone with the m8120 with the 55mm chainline for the extra bit of spindle?

There will also be air in the master cylinder (shifter body). Loosen the handlebar and rotate the bar up and down while pumping the lever to get more air out. Same concept as you demonstrated in the beginning.

NERD ALERT. Even a good bearing will create vibrations when rotated. If it rotates, it vibrates. It is all relative so "how much does it vibrate" is a good question. Perhaps just refrain from using absolute terms like "No vibrations are coming through the frame what so ever - trust me they would if they could." There are absolutely vibrations traveling through the frame when the crank is spinning. Maybe say something like "I do not feel any vibrations with my hand that are indicative of a bad bearing."
@BBInfinite16 сағат бұрын
If vibrations are coming from a bearing, it's bad. It's that simple. Vibrations indicate a chipped ball, or balls, or pitting/brinelling for the race, or races. Can't get around this. If the rolling assembly is damaged, it will cause a vibration. If it's not, it won't.

If you watch the video we explain why it's so good. The biggest reason is the offset on the DS to prevent interference with power meter back plates, which is an issue with "full width" bb's like BB386Evo and BB86. Vroomen and White are no fools.

So theres obviously no grease in the bearing, and thats why it free spins, no sure why people are so obsessed with that but how often are you going to have to oil that bearing
@BBInfinite19 күн бұрын
Yes, there is no grease because that's how you are supposed to run them. We make them, and this is how we tell you to do it because this is how they are designed.

The rub is that even a brand new hanger must be straightened due to inconsistencies from frame to frame among identical frames. Metal frames and carbon frames are all hand made and each one is an individual.

Torque wrenches... Locktite... Crap engineering.
@BBInfinite28 күн бұрын
Applying proper torque is the essence of professionalism. Every fastener has a specified torque because bolts stretch and yield depending on the force applied. A properly torqued fastener is stretched slightly. If too much is applied, it will yield. Loctite is a retaining compound used in automotive, aerospace, and everywhere bolts and pressfit exists because of proper engineering.

My local bike shop told me that once you pop those off you have to get new ones. If you have a 12-speed. What's your thoughts on that? In other words you can't reuse them.
@BBInfinite28 күн бұрын
Maybe he is talking about reusing chain pins, because you definitely don't want to reuse on. As for the quick links, reuse them. You won't have any problems doing so.

To extract a bearing attached with Loctite? It is very hard and does not come out. Heat? Cold? .. Should I pull harder with an extractor?
@BBInfiniteАй бұрын
Knock the bearing out with a drift and hammer, just like anything else. That's what we recommend for our products. Never use heat on a bike, you'll blister the paint and there's no need for it.

Okay I'm excited. Do you recommend this bottom bracket for a carbon mountain bike as well?
@BBInfiniteАй бұрын
Yes, if you can find a MTB with a T47 BB. For some strange reason, T47 is only popular in road bikes. Why this is baffles us because we could argue that a MTB is THE place to use T47. All bikes should be T47

T47 is the best system there is. We always recommend it. The 22 Advanced 1 29er is BB92 (BB89.5 is the same thing in our products) pressfit, and yes, it will spin smoothly.

This video isn't about how to adjust the derailleur, it's about how to know which way to adjust it. The app won't tell you that, it will only facilitate the adjustment. You may need to change the BB to one that maintain proper bearing spacing, such as one of ours. First, ensure there are no shims or spacers in the system.

The spokes are properly tensioned. Bladed spokes creak over time when they are are in contact with one another. Notice how many companies, like Mavic, use bladed spokes but never have this problem because they design the hubs so that the spokes never touch where they cross over one another.

@@BBInfinite Thanks. I've already installed it now without and the fit was so snug that I could not feel any play. But if I do notice any, I will then apply the retaining compound.
@robertrjm8115Ай бұрын
I am runing a 1 by 11 setup and do not use ANY preloading on my BB, but leave about 1/2 mm horizontal play. On a "1 by " setup, this horizontal play has no effect on the shifting and the BB bearings last for "ever".

Shouldnt you be adding resistance and weight to gain muscle instead of making it easier and losing muscle and slowly becoming weaker with every upgrade?
@BBInfiniteАй бұрын
Efficiency gains do not make riding the bike easier because you'll always ride up to the same level of perceived effort. Let's say you see an 18mph average at 200 watt output before upgrading the efficiency with one of our BB and pulley upgrades. The "gains" translate into you going faster with the same effort, let's say, an 18.5mph average at 200 watts post upgrades. You'll still feel the same, you'll just be going faster.
