And the all-new RIS III rail system was modeled after the infamous RIS II that was developed for SOCOM. The RIS III is M-LOK rather than picatinny quad rail, includes the same 6 bolt lock-up found on the RIS II, and also features the same two part design as the RIS II allowing it to free float M203 grenade-launchers. @@lukegulbranson9738 The problem is the 14.5" and 16" barrel length variants only come with a rail that's 12.5" long, so a lot of the barrel is exposed. I personally kinda hate that look...wish DD made longer rails for these longer barrel lengths.

@Jon M Im not saying I would, but im saying anyone who IS using them who DOES want a change over to MLOK....can do it without removing their muzzle device, removing their gas glock, removing their barrel nut and backplate, and can easily just swap the III over to their II. MY RIS II is here to stay, im just saying I like the concept of the idea they had there for people that DO want to change them out

I love all the KAC and LMT fanboys that get on here that say DD is garbage. Half of you saying this aspire to be operator's and can't even out shoot the capabilities of a PSA, nor will you ever punish it enough to break. I like LMT and KAC, I own a Mod 2 personally and it's a great gun. Half of the Kac and Lmt owners on here think their weapon is leaps and bounds ahead of anything....it's quite hilarious to see the "more military contracts" phrase thrown around. Does Sig's recent contracts now put them to the forefront?

It’s an mlok version of the ris rail. The regular mlok rail has 4 bolts the ris 3 has 6 bolts and can mount m203 on the bottom.

@@1JeffJames Our new DD4 RIII has a fully ambidextrous lower receiver and the DDM4 V7 does not. The new RIS III rail on the new DD4 RIII has a 6-Bolt Bolt-Up System and has a Two-Piece design that allows for the attachment of an M203 Grenade Launcher when lower rail section is removed. The V7 uses our MFR rail that is a 4-Bolt Up System and is One-Piece. So as a quick wrap up, the biggest difference is in the lower and the rail. Hope that helps!

The RIS III lower is full ambi. With a DD you're really just paying for the top tier barrel and RIS system rails though, so if you want a really good ambi lower i would get a LMT mars lower and slap a DD upper on there.
