|ABOUT|
I live and knit in Southern Ontario with my husband and my terrier. The name kuriaknits comes from my last name - Kurian. Kurian has Indian and Syrian origins and I feel lucky every day that my husband shared it with me.

If you change your mind and come to Bergen, I may join you for a bit of the hike. I live here and am very well acquainted with our mountains. Also the weather doesn't differ much from Scotland - expect rain regardless of the season 😊

Congratulations on your first testknit! I'm excited to see what else you come up with so keep going😉Also, my go-to for travelling are vacuum sealed bags. They saved me last time I went to England and I could bring back so much more yarn

Ohhhh the tank top is SO PRETTY!!! If I didn’t hate deadlines I would love to apply to test it haha. I live in BC and can empathize so hard on wildfires - I remember some years it just snows ash and it’s actually cold because of the smoke covering the sun. It’s really intense. Wear a KN95 and protect those lungs! ❤

I think it's worth reaching out to the designer for knit support and ask a clarifying question about the chart rather than approach it as saying something is wrong. That way they have the opportunity to clarify or maybe they will realize it's wrong and let you know it was a mistake on their part.

I went on a road trip in Scotland with my family 4 years ago and Skye was my favorite place. However the roads there were not something I would personally want to drive on since they are a lot of narrow mountain passes (my dad and brother were the only ones who drove there). Definitely more to think about than just driving on the other side of the road. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have fun!

I'd just like to say, your knitting is so beautiful. I've watched it develop over time and it, and your new design, are really lovely. I don't wear tank tops as I now wear a lot of vintage, hence not applying to test, but I really want to wish you the best of luck.

❤ so excited to get this pattern! It's beautiful and I have the perfect handspun for it! It is also perfect for my body shape! As for the lace pattern, live by Elizabeth Zimmerman's words of wisdom "uninvent it" 😊. It's all out there somewhere, but like colors, textile patterns are our pallet to create our own visions and share those visions with others who love fiber. I can't wait to knit yours! (Also, I think the natural cardigan really pops your eyes! I love that color on you and now I want one too in natural , hehe.....watching your podcasts is always dangerous for wallet!)

I just thought of another dream Scottish site, which is the Isle of Lewis, specifically the megalithic sites and other prehistoric sites on both Orkney and Lewis.

For your returning trip use a vacum bag😅 I don't recommend for your trip to EU because all your clothes will be wrinkly, but for coming home is perfect😊

I think you should pack for carry-on size now, but pack a smaller bag within your stuff. Then on your way home you could check your main bag, and have the extra bag as your carry-on.

Your Sauble Tank top looks amazing - it'll be a summer staple for sure! And the colour you chose really makes your eyes pop! We've had some wildfires out here in the west as well recently, causing the air quality to be quite poor for a couple of days earlier this week. Thankfully we've had a bit of rain in the past day so fingers crossed that might help. I hope you are staying safe, and hope that the fires don't continue to spread.

I'm from Scotland and visited Isle of Skye for the first time 2 years ago. Probably the most beautiful place I have ever been, I highly highly recommend. Loch Lomond and Loch Ness are also beautiful places to visit. I would definitely not recommend driving in the Scottish highlands as even I found it difficult as a confident driver on Scottish roads😂 Your Sauble Tank is also extremely gorgeous and I look forward to seeing your future designs!!❤

The Sauble Tank looks amaaaazing! The green just makes your eyes pop! I love how the lace pattern adds a delicate bit of interest, while still remaining minimalistic. It feels like a tank that will be a classic piece. 👌 The forest fires were so bad! I live in Ottawa, and by the third day, my eyes were constantly watery, and my throat was stinging, even though I stayed indoors. The fires will have caused ravages to so many ecosystems too. Stay safe!

Maybe bring an empty duffle bag ( or buy one) in your suitcase and pay the fee for an extra bag on the airline? I bought an inexpensive bag in Peru to bring back yarn and the fee for an extra bag was only $25 Cdn

I believe I have seen an episode on another channel, Fruity Knitting where one sleeve was longer than another. What she did was , she used dental floss to save 2 rows, she actually cut the garment between those rows and then proceeded to knit in stocking stitch until she reached her proper length , then she grafted the 2 pieces together. It is a little scary , thinking of cutting it, it looks to me like your lace is lovely but your stocking stitch could use more length. Maybe if you consider it you could actually do the cutting part near your armhole section , where you feel its too deep. It's a lovely periwinkle colour and a beautiful pattern, it would be a shame to not be happy with the final result.

This is a decent idea. I went a different route but would consider it in future. Thanks!

It is definitely wort frogging the band and extending the length. If I wait until 'later', it never gets done and the garment never gets worn. It is too pretty not to be exactly the way you want it. I'd love to visit Orkney, never been to Scotland at all.
