@@aguyontheinternet8436 it actually is worded consistently with other relics, such as the 'wall bounces contribute to damage' and 'bouncers contribute to damage'. both of those means hitting the wall or the bouncers counts as hitting another peg, so something worded 'collected coins contribute to damage' means each coin collected counts as another peg hit

If you mean "can't be upgraded", then it could actualy find some use with builds that add damage externally, like short stack. But if the damage just can't be modified *period*? then it's kind of completely useless. Maybe it would still sort of have synergy with things like Mental Mantle and Refillbuster, but it still would be garbage

@@TheKNEE13 Nat 1's and nat 20's are one of the ways you can see how chill your DM is, imo. I remember one game I played we had an orc bard who climbed a bell tower, and just goes, "I play the bell." "Dude, wtf, it's in a fucking bell tower, and we're trying to be stealthy." "I play the bell." "Fine, roll." *Nat 1* "You loudly ring the bell, and alert everyone nearby. And it sounds terrible." "I pick up the bell." "Wtf, fine. Can we just get off of the bell tower and get back to killing the BBEG?" *Nat 20* "Ok, you have a massive bell tower bell. Congrats. Now put it down and let's go." The orc thinks for a second. "I put it in my bag of holding." "Dude, you aren't fitting that in a backpack, just no..." as the orc rolls, *nat 20* "You know what, I'm done, fine." If I recall, the bell only was truly useful once, but made frequent appearance, notably in that very same boss fight, (we broke in through the ceiling and avoided much of the dungeon, to the DM's credit though, I think he expected us to do that) when the bard noticed the DM's offhand comment about an organ in the back of the room, he challenged the boss to a performance battle. With the fucking bell. After he did miserably, and the boss stomped him, you know what he did? Picked up the fucking organ. With another nat 20. There was another DM who made a slip of the tongue and mentioned there was a piece of cloth in a lit brazier. After being that guy, and a couple good rolls, the DM sighed, and informed me that "sure. It's fire resistant." "Cool, how big is it?" "Like the size of a hand towel. Good job using that." "Oh, I'll find a way." Unfortunately, that was the last session we got to play of that campaign, lol. Life made our group fall apart.

Also, I believe that visual bug happens because mirrorb is mimicking an orb. So it wasn't actually terriball, it was mirrorb as terriball that killed the final boss.

I actually want to point out that there are moments where the terriball isn't actually terrible. It's not really ever great, but it can act as a versatility item. The situations are fairly niche, but for example, hitting a refresh on the far side of two pegs where the gap between them is too small for a regular orb to get through. There are orbs that do that better and with more effect, but still, the niche can be filled by the terriball. It would be better if it had higher stats, but of course, that's why it's called the terriball and can't be upgraded.

I kind of feel like the Terriball should be hard to remove to discourage thin to win strats, like Slay the Spire's Ascender's Bane. But I guess it's up to the devs EDIT: Well now that removing an orb goes up in cost every time you do it, then just having one more suck orb to start is massive

I had this pretty insane run the other day with a new relic called Navigationflation. Basically, all coined pegs give four coins instead of one during navigation. Combined with super boots, I could just grind coins after every fight to the point where I bought every relic in every shop and every new orb was instantly a tier three regardless of its initial tier. Having all those relics gave pretty much every orb +10/+0 in only a couple of turns every fight, so a long as I avoided the crit I was killing everything

Taking the enchanted gunpowder relic at a chest is such a 500 IQ strat, because then you can just aim for a single bomb in the chest navigation map and win a second relic for absolutely free

FOR THE LAST TIME, BATS AREN'T BLIND! They are in very dark caves so they can't see but they have pretty decent eyesight! You'd be "blind" if you were in pitch black!

If they had some mechanic with the terriball where if you used it to deal the final blow to a boss & have it upgrade like that it would be a very interesting buff, perhaps they'll incorporate that one day, making it so you can only get level 3 by downing the first 3 bosses w/ it specifically as the final blow.

Obviously a little bit worse, but you will likely have removed it before your get an orbelisk which is the only time a stone would be legitimately better than a terriball

There's another relic which stops you being able to collect coins and counts them as damage, but this relic says it counts damage for every coin you collect. I wonder if they actually stack, seeing as the other relic prevents you from collecting coins, so technically they shouldn't...

Stones have some synergies - orbelisk, whereas it doesn't. It also costs you a removal which increases the cost of other removals and slows you down.

generally in games with a deck system anything that ruins consistency really hurts a lot so I think it probably is a really big hit to the player it just isnt that obvious because it's hard to get punished for having a bad deck when you can heal for full every fight

could be cool if the terriball had 5 or 10 lvls instead of 3, and all the levels did nothing/were underwhelming upgrades, but then the last level made it really really strong as an easter egg. maybe the previous levels could say like "don't upgrade this." "why are you upgrading this?" "its not good i promise" etc

I hope the devs implemented some kind of item that synergizes with the Terriball or some event that turns it into a cool pay-off for keeping it until the end of the run. Stones have Orbelisk after all, so giving you some kind of reward for actually playing with the Terriball instead of getting rid of it would be very cool.

Got this game because of you. (Love it by the way) first ever run built full bomb build. A little extra HP. Last item turned all bombs to red bombs. Hit every bomb on the board in boss fight and it one shot the boss.

Mental mantle is actually way stronger than you think. Every 2 coins you do damage to a targeted equal to the damage number you are outputting. So if you are doing 300 damage the second coin would do 300 damage.

So, which synergy won the run here? Spoilers for those who haven't watched the video! Blindness _(first from Darkness eterball, then Sand arrows),_ applied several times via crit Icircle, into Dumb bell _(+Refresher course, as an added bonus),_ stagnating lategame into massive buffs. Pumpkin pie, The gift that keeps on giving, and Echo chamber _(+Peglinero's pendant, Basic blade and Overwhammer that technically doesn't count because it was already too late)_ for significant damage buffs, then for healing there was Doctorb into Cookie, Tactical treat, Round guard, Decoy orb, Well-done steak, Refreshield and Popping corn. Thin to win decks will always be strong because the consistency given by having less choices defeats the randomness of several niche-yet-powerful combinations being utilized in different ways. Very surprised Tyler didn't catch on the Icircle being very powerful combined with Sand arrows by applying Blindness into many enemies, ending up in almost removing the orb when there was, multiple times, a Spearorb that does pretty much the same deal thrown in the shops and several events, begging to be picked.

Hey, unrelated to the video but have you seen the recent Witness mod which randomizes all the puzzles in the game? If you play in expert mode the puzzles get super hard, you get totally new mechanics, and you see a bunch of combination of symbols you don't normally see. I imagine you wouldn't want to beat the witness again but it could be fun to check out.

Maybe they should add a multiplayer to this game and perhaps make it so you can compete against other players for rare orbs. Perhaps one of the multiplayer game modes could be blackjack where you try and score 2,100 and instead of busting if you go over, it is just whomever got closest to the score. And perhaps they should make it that the rare orbs you win are automatically put into you PVE starting deck. They should also make it so that there are OP rare orbs that can one shot everything that you have to buy to get.

There's a secret way to apply Blind 100 to enemies. It's very tricky, not many people know about it. You have to use an orb that deals damage and get a number greater than the enemy's current HP.
