FlippedNormals is the best youtube channel, FlippedNormals is not only a good mentoring youtube channel but also an amazing inspiration. I have been teaching computer graphics, especially 3D modeling, and animation for the last 20 years, but FlippedNormals inspired me to create my own youtube channel about 3D modeling and Animation and doing something unique to help the community. Currently, I am enjoying watching my channel growing and I am loving this process of teaching and learning. Respect for the best-Flipped Normals.

Hi! your tutorials are amazing. I have an issue with Compositing CGI car into an EXR sequence live footage. The issue is that the CGI car appears over the person in the live footage. I masked out the person in the live footage in davinci resolve 19 studio, and imported the masked exr sequence into blender. How do I composite so the person in my live footage appears over the CGI car as he walks across it?
@Gavrev2 жыл бұрын
In fairness to the size aspect of EXR's, if you opt more specifically for DWA (Lossy) codec option it will reduce the sizes of your EXR files considerably, even below PNG size! The files as described will presumably be lossy but I'm damned if I can see the difference and you have the aforementioned advantage of the extra data in each image, for further work or export. Whether any of the data you're talking about is lost by using the DWAA Lossy codec is something I don't know, but I'm re-rendering my recent animation (comprised of PNG files), and the re-rendered folders are benefitting from a reduction of between a sixth and a tenth of their PNG counterparts. Since the total project size with PNG files adds up to 100Gb, a reduction to somewhere around 20Gb without any perceivable loss in quality will be very welcome for my storage availability - if it hits the projected file reductions the DWAA Lossy codec represents around a five:one project ratio!

That "hammering out that hole in the table" premult alpha analogy= carrying with that for me forever :) seriously, good stuff! Other Tip: if your using a ColorRamp & one color, you can lower (zero-out) the other colors value then premult it's alpha to be certain however you'd like. ALSO, when using Cryptomattes SHOULD we put an Alpha Over first before colouring etc? In your cryptomattes tutorial you outputted using the 'Matte' plug & inputed it into the 'Fac' of the Mix node, then went straight to color-grading, or was that just another way of doing it? Like is the 2019 method a better way to color-grade when there's a mix of two color values? (ie. the original render & the now colorgraded mask value) Thanks for your time eh :)

@JamesBAnim3 жыл бұрын
This threw me too, searched around for ages trying to find the answer. It's all to do with the 'compositing' checkbox in the Output Properties Tab > Post Processing > Pipeline section. With the 'compositing' box unchecked/unticked, CRTL+F12/CMD+F12 will render again from the viewport/camera. With it checked/ticked, and as long as you have the 'Composite' node connected, it will render your comp from the compositor.

Just use the latest 2.83 (2.83.4, as of today), it will have the same features (nothing removed, nothing added) and a few less bugs.

Absolutely no advantages, fusion is a better composition package on all fronts. No doubt, This is purely meant for people who want to stay inside blender. And it can be helpful to be able to do some quick comp on top of your render while your in the software.

Please supply HD 30 fps, as we don't need every nuance of your cursor, but we do need to read text and look at a decent resolution. Was stocked to watch this but can't stomach the buffering that only happens on HFPS. even 4K plays well at 30 but almost everything breaks up at 60 with a really good data rate for this country 70 Mbs ( Australia)
