Another quick solution on fixing these is duplicating the mesh then zremesh it until the topology is broken down to larger pieces while also maintaining the shape of it, once you have that you can bump up the subdivision and project it with the original mesh and you will have the detail while also maintaining the topology to be sufficient, this tip is also incredibly useful when posing the body and its also very useful knowing you can essentially detail smaller pieces but also rearange the larger piece of the mesh without destroying the smaller detail

When my teacher told me to reduce all the quads with target weld in maya i couldnt believe that this was how the topology should look like. Then i realised once it gets triangulated you wont notice the ugly topology anyways :D

Me an artist who just wants to create nice things by 3d modeling and printing them out: Who dafuq sees if my topology sucks?? Jokes aside. I’m new in digital sculpting and my topology is always all over the place when I sculpt. I do it in the most convenient way since you don’t see how the topology looked on the printed piece.

I think this is a little bit of a utility focused way of talking about art. Art isnt just product for a company or an item to sell yourself in a portfolio. I'd compare it to critising the Monalisa for being too detailed to animate properly. Or a statue for not being claymation. That model was never meat to animate. So its topology has no reason to conform to any comvention to make it mallable. Now you wouldnt be able to (easily) edit the expression later sure. But neither can a painter. Good practice doesnt mean necicary practice

It's funny you say that, because anyone in a hiring position wouldn't hire the artist regardless. They want perfect topo for no reason and 10 years a senior skills at entry level pay.
