Hey guys, this is a BEGINNER INTRO level vid. Says it right up there in the description. If you already KNOW HTML then what the the heck are you doing here shitting all over a beginner's vid for from a guy who has helped HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of guys like me learn some cool stuff??!! Go make your own PERFECT vid then to help us! Otherwise if you got a better, or alternative idea or way of doing something, instead of smashing Eli, why don't you comment on THAT instead. Thank you.

Wow...this has got to be the coolest tutorial I have come across, yet! I love the way you stress how simple it is and how you repeat things and slow down. I wish my high school teachers new this kind of thing. *grrr* I came to your KZbin video, because I couldn't figure out how to create non-messy link in comment boxes. Since I write a lot and blog; and since in order to do that well, and get people to come to my blog - I need to be able to communicate with other bloggers and comment-ors. I have a lot that I want to be able to share, and knowing HTML may just help me do that. I'm definitely checking out your other videos; and if they are anything like this one - your free, easygoing, but extremely rational approach with a bit of humor thrown in for good measure - then I'm sure I'll love em'...even I'm not interested in the particular topic. And you might want to know that you've inspired me and given me some direction for the future, when I'll want to be hosting my own KZbin videos. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

It's really funny, Eli. A lot of people make fun of your videos, as if you're in the film/photography industry, or perhaps they could tell you that you should get a chalkboard, because your board looks just as dirty when you erase it. BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT MATTERS! You're a wonderful teacher, and you teach COMPUTER SCIENCE/IT! That's what you're good at, and that's why you have the following that you do. Thanks for helping me to learn the basics and develop such a basis that I'm at the top of my class today. You're great!

Just a heads-up; this video is out-of-date, as one should not be using attributes such as "align" and "border" in HTML. Both of these were deprecated with HTML 4.01 and rendered obsolete in HTML5. Anything visual should be achieved with CSS instead.

Html is not programming simply Marking up the page with tags. The tags in HTML are like place holders for your content or yours site HELLO WORLD will out put a big header. As for programming is much more complex with Conditional statements/ Loops/ Algorithms / Functions/ reserved syntax's and functions withing the programming language and databases i learn xhtml and html5 withing 2 weeks. Programming is not impossible to learn but will take some time to get down and be able to write programs or scripts that will work and process perhaps data or functions. Message me if you would like to learn I will be making tutorials on anything you like

Yeah every starter programmer gets that problem knowing something and not been able to put it together to do something I sure crack my head to figure it out and the videos are been work on but to answer your question you have to figure how to attach what you learn and put it together or go on to google and find out how to created what you want and if they dont have it go and figure out what pieces you might need like registering a use you need DB connections and tables and then a way to store info and get it out with php or perl. think of it like this i built a car no one knows how to do it then i die so only a handful of people learn from me how to build it you go and look for the instructions with you learning the language you can understand the code instructions the present after that you copy their code and modified it later when you feel like hey that guy uses to much code i can reduce that then you do it its about following instructions and been able to understand them and modified them later because all honesty no one can just learn the basics and put together a house or a program you must look at the instructions from what ever person you can then you can built it the same and later make it better

Almost the perfect presentation for a HTML lesson for beginners. Why almost? Your board-space mismanagement; extremely thoughtless and inconsiderate for your viewers. Tip1: As the top of your board is constantly out of view, make a 'mark' that indicates your camera 'upper' range so you can stay with in it. Tip2: For goodness sake start your work at the left side of the board! Why the love-affair with the confined area of the right side!!! For such a (obviously)smart man, it's extremely confusing why you work like that. Board-space management and layout is a critical part of Teacher-training, as is clean, clear writing. When a teacher/trainer/presenter scribbles, it is considered the information is not important. However, your knowledge, personal way of engagement, speaking to your audience is fantastic, and I will subscribe. Please take heed of the tips.

***** Because you have to hard type literally everything you want on your site. Images, links, basic paragraphs. And you have to do it for every page. Your spelling and routing(routing is what I call the use of quotation marks to set rules or destinations for tags) must be perfect. If something is misspelled or out of place your page won't show up properly if at all. Not to mention navigating a folder in NotePad can get quite annoying at times. Imagine coding a site site like Wal-Mart.com in NotePad. It would probably take months to finish the basic HTML on it.(go to Walmart.com and hit f12 it will bring up the html for you to see if you don't believe me) Let's not get started on the CSS that makes it look pretty or the JavaScript and Flash it uses to actually function. Programs like DreamWeaver plug in links for you should you save what you want to be linked correctly and the split screen feature is a life saver, you can code on one screen and your code will show up as if it were on the web on the other screen. It makes it easy to catch mistakes No need to save, close, and open constantly as Eli does here. It also makes certain tags for you. Dreamweaver and programs like it just make a Web Designer's life much easier.

You've gotta love the critics! I find all you videos VERY informative and spot on the mark. I love your professional approach re:- attention to sound quality, professional lighting, and production, accurate and informative information. I believe your content is spot on! I can't recall the source but I have a saying that constantly echoes in my head when I get frustrated dealing with people who can't think. "Don't try to teach HOGS how to sing! It will frustrate YOU, and it just irritates the hell out of the HOGS" Please don't worry about the "hogs", the rest of us really appreciate the time and effort you put in to make these videos. To all you negative critics...... If you know so much more....... Put up a video of your own (that will be SO........ much better.....or shut up!
