What does it mean to "use paid sick leave?" Does it mean: 1. we can get paid for hours of missed work, or 2. we can get paid for the hours that we have earned, even if we did not miss work?

Do I have to get someone to cover that day for me? Can the recipient not have someone for that day? Do I have to make up the time for that sick day off?

You all need to do better. It seems like every time you call or the information provided to us is so simple yet not informative at all. Like if claiming sick leave how does it affect our other hours worked? Is it a max of the weekly hours the recipient gets? Like an actual breakdown of how it's done. This video is basic and tells us nothing.

it doesn't affect your normal hours. As long as you reach 100 hours after beginning your employment. You are entitled to it every year. It doesn't have to be explained as far as the exact reason. Those hours can be used for the client as well...hospital visits etc. I agree it is confusing, but it's easier if you have an online account.

How much is sick day for an 1 hours and how you count ?

@@user-ch8wk7zu6s You go online and click under menu to where it says Sick Pay. But I don't know if u can claim sick on a day u worked. U can try if for 1 hour & see if they approve it. You would get $18 for it minus taxes. I think we get paid $18 an hour.

If we have worked all the hours could we still be eligible to requesting sick leave hours ? Or the sick hours are only for people who didn’t work and took off?

@farahnoori5510, You can still request sick leave hours, just be sure to claim sick time ONLY on the dates you didn’t claim regular hours.

@@ceci6299 I am sorry Miss typo My question was I already worked everyday my own hours but because the consumer has full hours so the days I haven’t worked the other caregivers worked how can I request sick leave while the days I haven’t been there someone else worked and claimed her own hours for the day?

Hola Celia, hace varios meses de su comentario, todavia tiene problemas para reclamar sus horas de enfermedad?, entre a su cuenta de IHSS, despues haga "click" en "TIME ENTRY", ahi le dice "Sick Leave Claim", haga 'click" y ahi ya la lleva donde tiene que llenar su reclamo.

@celiavaldovinos5999, Si estas usando el portal electronico puedes obtener las forma SOC 2302(Sick Leave Request Form) yendo a Menu> Ingreso de tiempo> Reclamacion de tiempo de enfermedad.✅

@aleealvarez1738, ese dinero es para ti. Y si no encuentras a nadie quien te cubra puedes trabajar todas tus horas que tienes autorizadas y aún así reclamar tiempo de enfermedad, solo asegúrate de reclamar las horas de enfermedad en las fechas que dejaste en blanco en la hoja de horas regulares.
