I wish people were allowed to take sick days. You see, what happens is that co-workers come to work terribly ill and then get the rest of us sick!

what happens if you get sick! it doesn't matter if you are only ALLOWED 1o days. your body doesn't know that. im never healthly but I do my best to give 200% when im there and try to make up any lost time. But I get migraines....what am I supposed to do? Go to work anyway and be useless?

I think this approach is bad. If you asked if there is anything that I want to "tell you". My response is not, "there is not anything I would want to tell you". It is, "if I have not exhausted my sick leave why am I here". If I was that employee I would go see a lawyer when she starts suggesting my sick leave isn't legitmate.

I know it’s a yr later but ur last sentence just help me add more details in my complaint letter to HR. My boss wrote me up for using my sick leave.., when I was actually sick … so is saying my sick leave isn’t legitimate which is false bc those are my benefits!!

If you don't want employees to have time off just say that. If sick days are given they can and should be used. It's not the employees fault there isn't proper coverage in their absence

This video actually helped me . I was legitimately sick bc of root canals I needed 2 only took 3 days of my sick time … total I’ve taken 5 days with 90 days . That’s not a lot plus I have sick leave of like 60 hrs .. there are co workers that slack off and I get written up!! Oh yeah and I’m disputing this write up with HR and Cc her Boss!! 👌

He may very well be that sick 😫 🤦‍♀️ a little birdie told mea manager in my area had to miss at least a month because they had a major invasive surgery.... you'd have them working when they should 💯 be healing up 🤦‍♀️ plus if someone is truly sick I 💯 don't want their germs and their cooties! If you are sick stay home! Far away from me! I might have to pick up the slack, but I'd rather do that then get sick!

You should try not to take more then two sick days a month and try not to be sick every month but employers do need to realize s**t happens sometimes people just get sick a lot I’ve seen it with some people with weak immune systems. That’s why it’s best to give your employer some prof if you can a doctors note saying you were sick if you can.

@@coolstorybro_cant_wait_4_movie same here, it never ends! I’ve taken 2 sick days in the past year. I woke up with horrible gout (my first time ever) and felt like a hammer went at my foot. I didn’t even want to stay home. I only have 12 on my staff but if everyone called out twice a month I’d be covering every day! Ridiculous.
@god4501
@god4501 2 жыл бұрын
I can tell that some of yall are employers. 2 a month is quite a lot. To be frank tho it is not the employees responsibility to worry about what happens at work when they are sick. If you are an employer it is your responsibility to have some extra employees to cover a shift. If a job takes 6 employees you should have 8 to 9. Its standard practice. Have more so your employees dont get burnt out and you have a more leniant workforce.

My coworkers do this shit all the time and my boss lets them get away with it no matter how many times they do it. They show up late every day too! As good as this video is, I'm getting this weird good guy vs bad guy vibe. Sometimes this isn't the case. Do we consider reoccuring health issues? In scenario 1, the boss was out of line. In scenario 2, the employee was out of line. The real world isn't like this.

@2:00 if that employee is "near his limit" then holy sh*t he's fine. As long as he didn't take more than 10 days every employee is entitled to those days. You want reliable employees then let them take certain days off until they reach their limit. If they use all their days then that's on THEM. Stop working people until they drop dead, that's unfair and that's why everything should be reevaluated

I understand staying home to not spread whatever you have to your co workers. If I'm coherent and capable, I'm going to work. Most ppl didnt even notice that I was sick. In the last 5 years I believe I've had 2 sick days. I tell my guys "either you want to work or you dont." That whole being fair thing is stupid. You throw your coworkers under the bus. Like you know your doing something wrong as a kid an saying but that kid is doing it too. Grow some balls, own your actions. I have a guy that has missed 4 days in the last three months. Everytime I have to tell him to stay home for 2 weeks bc of covid. It doesnt help me or the other ppl at all.

There’s a difference if you have a slight cough but can still work then you manage your cough at work. But if your slammed and can’t even stand up out of bed stay home. See many will take a small cough or a headache as I’m sick no take some pills and you’ll be fine it’s the ones that abuse the system that need to stop people that are actually sick get guilted into working when they should actually stay home.
@supercalifragilestic
@supercalifragilestic 3 жыл бұрын
That's bullshit tho. Not talking about staying home over some sniffles, but if you're legit ill, you're not throwing anyone under any busses. It's the managers that are shit for not securing enough people to patch something that is a natural part of life. Whoever runs the place is the one driving the bloody bus, then playing the blame game.
@williamgraham5630
@williamgraham5630 3 жыл бұрын
@@supercalifragilestic It's easy for someone who isn't in a management position to take this stance. Most times, a manager has no budget to include enough people and has to make do with the number of employees they have. It would be irresponsible for employees to then continuously take leave. You are being paid for a job afterall.
@williamgraham5630
@williamgraham5630 3 жыл бұрын
@@supercalifragilestic I've had an employee on sick leave since the 15th of this month. Today is the 26th and this morning she tells me she's still not feeling well so she will work from home. At the same time another employee is self-isolating as he has to come into close contact with his dad who tested positive for Covid. That was the initial plan, but 3 days into it none of his assigned tasks were being completed and he wasn't answering any communications. Finally got hold of his on Thursday only for him to say he's on leave and will only return today. Complete and utter bs. Now I have to discipline them both. Management might be driving the bus, but employees have a big influence on whether the bus stays on course or not.
