Just purchased one for my son from Tractor Supply. I read a lot of bad reviews then went and bought it. The reason is because Coleman doesn't assemble them and rely on dealers to assemble them. I am a mechanic and took it to the shop and gave it a thorough look over and torque check. I had to align the tires better and bring the pressure for 20 psi down to 7psi. I found a few bolts and nuts that needed to be snugged up. The chain was tensioned way too tight via the axle adjustment so the auto chain tensioner couldn't do it's job. The oil was a little low so I warmed up the engine and did a oil change with some 15w40 synthetic oil. Other than that it seems to be doing great so far. My boy absolutely loves it. For the price it was worth the check over and allowed me to get familiar with it. Being a mechanic most of the bad reviews about the no start issues I could tell were from user error like fuel cut off and choke not being used. The throttle limiter comes fully closed from the manufacture and needs to adjusted out or it will drive very sluggish or not at all (which was most of the bad reviews). Yes, Colemans customer service was the biggest compliant I read so I'm not wasting my time with that. Thanks you for your videos.

I think this is a fair assessment. I kinda feel the same way. My son loves it and it has been worth the extra attention to keep it going. I just wouldn’t recommend it for someone who can’t maintain it themselves. Thanks for the comments and for watching!

He's a great rider for his age. Nice controlled drift coming out of that donut at 10:20. I'm here because I'm looking at this unit for my son. I also watched some of your later videos about it's faults. Reviews are mixed, but I don't mind a little extra effort for this entry price. My son is a little older (but smaller) and I just want to test the waters. We just have a couple of flat acres to putt around on. If he gets into it then I'll get something bigger and pass this one down or keep it as a project. You have a beautiful place there. Subscribed.

I appreciate the kind words! I hope the machine does you well. We bought it because it was what we could afford at the time. It served its purpose. I tried to make it clear that while it ultimately didn’t work out to well for us, we were also very hard on it. Best of luck and thanks for watching!

Lol. I’m glad I didn’t replace his. He ran into the back of me yesterday and that would have broken another one. Today he ran it off into a ditch and actually flipped over the handlebars. Once we determined he was ok, we laughed at him. 😂

@@kiwi-bp6uo I would probably say no. It will pull me around on level ground, but we have found some trails that my 85lb son can’t go up, because it doesn’t quite have enough power. It is good for what it is, but not a lot of power.

I have noticed that ours is definitely not a snowmobile. It is built light enough that I don't let kids ride much in deeper snow or ice. I am not sure the rear end can handle the slipping and grabbing action. That is so hard on chains and clutches that I am afraid we will blow out the drive line. We break out the youth snowmobiles for snow and ice.

We were pretty hard on it and because of that it lasted no time. Just not built to be rode hard.

I don’t regret buying it, but I have had some issues and Coleman has not even responded to try and help fix it. Check out my latest video where I talk about it. Long story short, bolts fell out of the sprocket and broke the chain. I fixed it, but with no help from Coleman. It is worth the money if you are able to wrench a little on your own.

I didn’t use it on those parts and so far they have not loosened back up. I did use loctite on the brake caliper bolts and the sprocket bolts when they came loose. Hope this helps. I’m no expert, but I’m happy to share what is working for me and what isn’t!

Just bought one of these exact quads for my son. 0.3 hours on the hour meter and 20$ worth of good synthetic oil in it, and boom no compression. Never had it past half throttle (because it needs to break in)...

Surely they will take it back or replace the engine. I have since posted an updated review sharing some issues I’ve had. Nothing as bad as you just experienced, but I reached out to Coleman and never even got a courtesy response. I’m very disappointed in the company. I’m sorry to hear about your bad luck!

@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead It's all good. They think they are going to help me troubleshoot why it won't start tomorrow when the store manager is in. It literally has 0 compression, I've been working on engines forever, sooo I'm going to just ask them to swap it out for the other one they have in stock and we will see where it goes from there.
