How will we calculate efficiency and voltage regulation of a single phase transformer at 1.0 PER UNIT LOAD and 0.8 power factor lagging ( provided we are given open circuit and short circuit power, voltage and current along with kva rating and turns ratio of the transformer)🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 please help with my doubt asap...
@Generalpac Жыл бұрын
Hi Anshika, The efficiency and voltage regulation formula for a single-phase transformer is almost the same as a three-phase transformer, though the only difference is single-phase transformer does not have 3 or √3 factors in output power. The formula for single-phase transformer efficiency is η = (V2*I2*p.f)/(V2*I2*p.f+ copper loss+ core loss) Where, η = Efficiency of transformer at full load (1.0 per unit load as mentioned in the question) V2 = Secondary Voltage I2 = Secondary Current p.f = power factor Since, S2 = V2*I2 (kVA rating of the transformer) We can further express the formula as : η=(S2*p.f)/(S2*p.f+ copper loss+ core loss) While the formula for voltage regulation is calculated as: Voltage regulation= (|V2nl|-|V2fl|)/|V2fl| Where, V2nl = No load Secondary Voltage V2fl = Full load Secondary Voltage V1 = Primary Voltage a = turn ratio of primary and secondary (N1/N2) The simplified formula according to the given condition can be expressed as: Voltage regulation= (|V1/a|-|V2fl|)/|V2fl| You can also go through our blogs related to transformers for further understanding: - www.allumiax.com/blog/transformers-its-working-construction-types-and-uses - www.allumiax.com/blog/types-of-transformer Hope you find it useful.
