When I used to study Statistics some 32 years back that was rabbis rabbish and boring even teacher didn't know how to teach ! This way create interest and involve in lecture .

That is one of the best explanation of variation and combination ever ! Great Job.

Thank you so much sir!! ❤️❤️ You explanation and the animation is just fabulous. Even combination of all the positive adjectives to rate this video is less than the actual rating this video deserves. My concepts are crystal clear now! 🙏🙏

Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. It has been really useful. With my newly profound knowledge of permutation, variation, and combination, I'm wondering why we use 'combination' instead of 'variation' when referring to the code that opens a safe. E.g. What is the combination of this safe? Shouldn't it be, "What is the variation of this safe?", since the code being referenced does not take into account double counting elements?
@louisyork81203 жыл бұрын
Let's say the code that opens my 4-digit safe is 4567. According to combinatorics, the possible number arrangements of 4567 are 24 variations (permutations) but 1 combination: 4567 5467 6457 4657 5647 6547 6574 5674 7654 6754 5764 7564 7465 4765 6745 7645 4675 6475 5476 4576 7546 5746 4756 7456 . However, only one number arrangement (4567) would open my safe. Why do we refer to it as being a combination? If it's a combination, then any of the 24 number arrangements should open my safe.

@@louisyork8120 think it's mostly because it's casual language. It's the same reason we erroneously interchange velocity with speed in our conversations, it's scientifically inaccurate but the details don't really matter much in casual talks, as long as it gives an idea of what the other person is talking about. Tldr: Nobody really cares about being scientifically accurate in a 10 second conversation

thanks, very useful! Although why would I need 12 days to try everything on the menu? I will need just 3 days as the number of vatiations of the first meal. Because with the first I take a side and a drink as well...Also I was tryin to get unique combinations for the order, if I have 9 pizzas, 2 drinks and 7 desserts, so I got 816 different combinations only. But if me and my friend orders together and we do not want to repeat orders of each other, we got 18 564 combinations for our order since we still have 18 elements of food item but 6 positions to fill in... I didn't get the conditions of the task about pizzas which you talked about.
