I havent used QB since I graduated from business school in 2005. My husband started a business and I am the new accountant. I knew I wanted to use QB but was terrified that I wouldnt remember any of it. Which I didn't. So I went searching on KZbin and found your video. It has been a lifesaver! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge for free. You are a great teacher. You'll never know how much it helped me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Mr. Garcia, I just discovered you on YT. I dropped out of the accounting field years ago and it will always be a major regret. I just began the process of re-learning and I will say you are the BEST instructor I have found on KZbin. I hope you are still making videos because this one video you created 'Intro to QB Desktop' should be the gold standard for all others to follow. I don't know if I can afford your courses but I will look into it in the mean time...I will absorb all the free stuff you got to offer! Thank you.

I took a short community college 3 hour course, but it was several years before Covid hit. At least if I can spend a few hours in your course before the interview, so I wil appear knowledgeable and confident in using Quick books. The office manager said they mainly use quick books for creating invoices and sale receipts.

@HectorGarciaCPA
@HectorGarciaCPA 9 ай бұрын
Es muy difícil contestar esa pregunta. Hay que mirar que información existe y como está organizada para determinar la mejor forma de ingresarlo. La mayoría de las veces es un proceso manual, que pero hay circunstancias donde se puede semi-automatizar

Hector, you are a very good trainer and your videos are packed with great and helpful information, even for someone who has used QB for many years. Thank you! Quick question... Do they yet allow an odbc connection to see their data file (any/all versions)? Oops, second question... would you say that Enterprise 2022 has yet become a robust, mature product from an inventory management standpoint? We moved away from QB handling our inventory back in 2017 so I'm curious. Again, thank you.

Hello Hector. Like your presentation here; thank you. I just began using QB recently for my new position will be accounting for a manufacturing company. I really do not want to mess with our main account, of course, as far as training. If this is the case, is there still a way to setup a "dummy" or practice business that doesn't interfere with our main business? I figured out how to generate a sample business but would prefer to start one from scratch in order to get the full learning experience. My boss is nervous that if I do, I'll mess up something on the main account. You didn't mention this scenario at the beginning so was hoping you could guide elsewhere. Thank you again!

I do have an important question about starting a fresh set of books or a start up company. When it comes to equipment depreciation, accrual, loans, shareholders, stocks etc. I know your a CPA but I'm only a bookkeeper so would I need to have a CPA to set those amounts prior to my set up of the books or would it be something that would be done by a CPA at end-of-year, then those amounts set into the coming year? If it is already an established company should I check with their CPA first before taking over the books to make sure the amounts in the accounts are correct? Would you tell the company that at their expense this would have to be done before taking over the books? Thank you so much.

Typically ar year end is enough for the CPA to make all those manual adjustments.

This is a great tutorial, thank you so much. One question not addressed in this is ... we have more than 1 user creating invoices at the same time. A for instance I might be creating a credit and assigning an invoice # while my coworker is creating new invoices. Is there a way for her to keep going with invoices without QB giving her my next credit # and vice versa? When we are both creating a lot it creates confusion. Thank you for your help.

Hi Hector, I'm interested to become a VA for bookkeeping. I am a marketing management graduate, do I need to become CPA just to do bookkeeping? Many vloggers that I watched said that I don't need to become an accounting graduate and CPA to do VA bookkeeping. This is the reason why I've been studying bookkeeping because it gives me motivation that I can do VA bookkeeping even I'm not a CPA and accounting graduate.

Hello. Subscriber here. Do you have any videos that show how to use the “check list client” “ needs assessment “ from quickbooks ? You know the part where you sit down and ask question to the client and based on Their answers you suggest the type of service they need. Maybe undertake some of the questions they have listed in the form . Cause I don’t even understand some of those questions. And we don’t want to ask a question we don’t even understand .

Hello Hector. I have never used QB as the contractor I used to work with used SAGE. Where do you suggest I start to help me learn the ins and outs of QB? I know you mention the 2016 QB missing manual, but will this help with the QB Desktop Pro Plus 2024?
@HectorGarciaCPA

It will help, but it doesn’t go deep into contractor related topics. KZbin might be the only resource plus working with an expert
