As a Farmer I have a few questions ? What does a set up like that cost ? What is the Energy Cost per Kilowatt Hour ? 20 ft. Container or 40 ft. ? 40 footers go for 6K to 9K these days 2021. What is the Per Hour Cost for you cute "Farmer" and do you pay FICA, Unemployment insurance, Medicare Taxes ? Permitting Fee for location placement. You certainly can't put one in your driveway ?

@@cristinat4326 Hi! Our newest model (different than the one you see in this video) is $139,000 USD and is the most innovative hydroponic container farm on the market that is delivered to you completely pre-assembled so you can start farming immediately. I am including a link to our Greenery webpage for more information! hubs.ly/H0FnpBd0

I'm a new subscriber today! Can the Freight Farms be used with wind & solar power, without exhaust emissions from diesel engines? Thanks for your reply in advance.
@Freightfarms4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra, yes our farms can be powered by solar panels. Additionally, we've partnered with Arcadia, a clean energy provider, to give our farmers access to easy, clean energy hook-up to lower their carbon emissions. Check out how it works here - hubs.ly/H0CX1Pj0

Hi Cecil, our LED lighting system is custom made for the LGM and is proprietary. In terms of durability, they are flexible, water resistant and maintain quality brightness for at least 10 years. Let us know if you have additional questions!

Those black sponges are called grow plugs, and they provide a nice cozy place for your seeds to grow!

Can only imagine what the monthly electric bill would be like? Better keep the seed stock coming in the front door and the produce flowing out the back door 24 hours a day 365 days a year to pay that monthly bill. What is the hottest region in the US or overseas that you have a freight farm operating in?
@Freightfarms4 жыл бұрын
Hi! We have farmers in Florida, Arizona, southern California, and several countries in the Middle East. They have seen success without "produce flowing out the back door 24 hours a day" Although they are growing 365 days a year unlike traditional farmers :)

The next video in my playlist, from Bright Agrotech _(The Truth Behind Container Farm Yields),_ explains why container farms are about as productive as half an acre per year at best. How is this container different?
@Freightfarms4 жыл бұрын
Hi Herman, check out our case studies page (www.freightfarms.com/case-studies) to see how our farmers are indeed being productive with our container farms. Our latest iteration, the Greenery, has 3,080 linear growing feet and is able to grow crops year-round, meaning it has 36,960 linear growing feet for planting over the course of a year, whereas a traditional farm acre has an annual growing capacity of about 19,800 feet. The key is that our farms are able to grow over the course of a full year in very extreme temperatures, which is something other farming methods cannot tout. Feel free to reach out with any other questions at growfoodhere@freightfarms.com.

Do you ship to Egypt? Also is there any way one can modify the LGM to grow exotic fruits ( ie prickly pears, passion fruit, Tamarillo) or blueberries or peppers? This is a great product. Thank you
@Freightfarms7 жыл бұрын
Hi there! We aren't currently shipping the LGM to Egypt unfortunately, but if you'd like to discuss more, please send us a note through freightfarms.com/contact. The LGM is designed and optimized for leafy green growth, so trees and shrubs wouldn't grow very efficiently in the minimal space inside the container. Let us know if you have any more questions!

I would like to know more about the production system, I would like to replicate its process in my country, basically I do not have a container, but I have space where I could implant it. I would like to know about the automated system, the type of nutrient solution they use, the type of substrate in the towers. I would be very fond of solving my doubts that I have. I'm sorry for English is not my native language thanks

the concept is good. but what about energy cost? your using electricity 24/7.
@pamelawilkins4785 жыл бұрын
energy could be customized by solar or wind since the shipping container is mobile and can be placed where those are optimum
@Freightfarms5 жыл бұрын
Exactly right, we have Freight Farmers that have added solar panels to their farms to enhance their energy efficiency. We don't include them on the farm because the amount of energy generated from solar panels is completely dependent on where the farm is located. For example, our HQ farm in Boston wouldn't get much solar power compared to one of our Freight Farmers in Florida.
