I with others worked for Neve back in the 70's as a designer, and we tried to get the cleanest and best analog audio possible. I go to the 'old timers ' reunion most years, and , so far as I can make out, AMS-Neve continue this tradition Allan

now its 2022, perhaps a Dante card as an option? Also dolby atmos would be great option instead on the 2 surround 5.2 and 7.1 say on the top 128 channel 64 analog desk. ? This looks great and the idea off conrtrolling all the eq and dyn digitally is amazing. I do think next revision they should include lp and hp sweepable filters.I think the touchscreen should always be centre of the speakers though so perhaps a redesign with a table armrest for revision2.

I love the desk but there are a few things I wish it had. Firstly I would really like to see it interface via Thunderbolt. I would also like to see it have some sort of Ethernet based Audio and Control, Dante, AES67, Ravenna, or AVB. Such a networking solution would mean I could have remote controlled pre-amps instead of on the desk or as well as on the desk. I'm thinking of an Neve 4081 Quad Preamp AVB or Neve 1081R Remote Preamp AVB. Lastly It would be great some sort of Tablet control since it is an analog desk that is digitally controlled.

Yes, but NONE of that exists. In any product. You're living in a fantasy world.

Great review and thanks for doing this, How does the new automation work for mix levels? I would love to see a demo video on that. Is it via midi channels?

Is it physically limited to HUI? Let's say this protocol is no longer supported by future DAW, will it be possible to reprogram the internal computer? Otherwise, this ticks all the boxes for me! What a great board!

So how does average joe home studio owner go about obtaining a lovely console like this or the ssl aws900?

Is it possible to put this in a different desk, maybe something custom?

Aside of the neve 88rs board sound wish i love, for ppl that has a lot of outboard like me manual recall is always there. The goal of this console is always the sum bus and the preamps also the eq´s that pays the job.
@ozorg8 жыл бұрын
does it only work with pro tools? what about logic or cubase?

No, it works with any DAW that support HUI.

what he is saying in every response to a question is basically: - "this console is a compromise for modern world" - "old days were different" - "we could not make that better, because of whatever" i think they could just make a multichannel remotely controlled analog processing units (EQ, DYN etc.) with respective channel strip plugins to control them, controled via ethernet, best as some sort of cards in a rack (6U would fit 16 channels?), same applies for SSL and other cool analog audio gear

SSL, Neve, API channel strips all across the board , I challenge anyone to a blind test. When will these companies living off the past glory going to learn and get with the times. You got cash to spare, invest in good monitors instead of blowing over 70k on this monstrosity.

I love hearing these guys pretend to have a "casual conversation" as they try to sell us a $70,000 piece of gear we don't need. The same old tropes are all here: "Well, you see, there's something about faders that's better than a mouse, so spend 70 grand." "There's the... uhh... meshing of old and new... it's a real uh... game changer..." "LOOK! We put the screen in the MIDDLE!" lol. Shut it, wankers, neither one of you spent 70 grand on this board.

This is absolutely perfect for a professional home studio! I'd pay $49K. I've probably spent twice that on gear over the last 15 years anyway. Is this is a legit 1 time investment that'll stand the test of time and technology is the real question lol. Shes beautiful tho!
