I outline the advantages and disadvantages of the open care system as well as incubators, describe the different modes, tips on when to use them in practice, humidification and importance of the same in managing extreme pretem babies. Thanks for your good effort, Doctor. What is the maximum temperature in air mode? Do we need to increase the humidity together with the air temperature? I have a great difficulty in controlling the temperature in the preterm and need your help🙏

There is no maximum but unusual to exceed 35 deg except in extreme preterm or if rewarming. Humidity is used according to gestation. What is the importance of thermoregulation in neonates?

Good morning. I am not sure if you have a medical background or you are a parent. As we are warm blooded, our temperature needs to be maintained to function well. In small or sick babies, we need to support this so they can maintain temperature without wasting energy. Also, low temperature in babies can affect immunity etc

Should air mode be kept at 32.5 and servo at 36.5 ?

Servo mode can be 36.5 to 37, higher temp in the tiniest babies. 36.8 is a good setting for most babies. For air mode, it depends on the thermoneutral zone, please review my other videos in this playlist
