I just wanted to pause studying for a minute to tell you "Thank you for providing this Server 2012 course"! I am taking the first exam, this Tuesday, for the 70-410 and your videos have been helping me grasp the details needed to operate Server 2012. I really appreciate your coherence, since my CBT nuggets class has been pounding a 100 details into a condensed 45 minute, per topic, videos. You've really helped me grasp the principles and feel capable of learning the finite details with each topic on my first exam. Thanks a million, Eli!

Don't worry about that the "experts" are going to say, you made it very clear that this is an "introduction" for us beginners, and it was a totally perfect and absolutely understandable introduction to DNS. This is the first time I try to learn the basics of DNS and I this is exactly what I was looking for, no need to look any further for what I was trying to accomplish a big THANK YOU!!!.

One should be required to convey a reason behind down-votes and have them shown in a separate tab. I would love to know why this guy has 17 down-votes when all his information is pertinent and accurate.
@rohanofelvenpower55664 жыл бұрын
I've come to the conclusion inserts these downvotes by themselves. Because they're big CRAP videos like VEVO music videos get downvotes obviously. If millions of small channels would have virtually no downvotes it might look bad for the shareholders who make youtube money.

Mr. Eli. i have a question here... i want to ask, i have windows server installed and i want to configure it as the AD DS... but when i install and promote the AD to a domain i got this event id 4013 "The DNS server is waiting for Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) to signal that the initial synchronization of the directory has been completed. The DNS server service cannot start until the initial synchronization is complete because critical DNS data might not yet be replicated onto this domain controller. If events in the AD DS event log indicate that there is a problem with DNS name resolution, consider adding the IP address of another DNS server for this domain to the DNS server list in the Internet Protocol properties of this computer. This event will be logged every two minutes until AD DS has signaled that the initial synchronization has successfully completed." How do i fix that... This is my ip static on my network adapter ip add 10.10.10.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 primary dns 10.10.10.1 #is there a problem if i use its own ip to be the primary ip dns server? Sorry for my english,i'm new.

HI Can you please tell me how to resolve "RFC 2136 specifies secure and unauthenticated Dynamic DNS Updates to the DNS tables on a DNS server. Typically, popular DNS servers like Bind or Microsoft DNS servers do not allow unauthenticated Dynamic DNS updates by default. However, as pointed out by CVE-1999-0184, Bind when compiled with the -DALLOW_UPDATES definition, does allow insecure updates. So does the Microsoft DNS Server if the ""Allow Dynamic Updates"" setting is set to ""Yes"" instead of ""Only Secure Updates"". Dynamic updates are used a lot these days, especially in the Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment, to locate services like Domain Controllers and Kerberos through the SRV RRs (Service Locator Resource Records). Thus, a misconfigured DNS server that allows insecure Dynamic DNS updates is quite likely. Through this test, the scanner could add ""qfake"" hostname with an IP address of ""1.1.1.1"" to the target DNS server's DNS tables. This entry has a TTL (time to live) of 1 day and is fairly harmless in itself."

How does the ending work where he assigns the printer an IP address? Thought only DHCP can provide a device with an IP?
@cypher5437 жыл бұрын
It's just an example IP, which is why the pings time out. The destination IP of a DNS record doesn't actually have to exist when you create the record.

Should that printer also have a static IP Address setup in its console to match with the DNS record just created on DNS Server?

It would be ideal if you could. But if the printer doesn't happen to support a static IP configuration you could add a reservation for it in the DHCP server.
