In this talk, Dharma teacher Fred Eppsteiner introduces the Yogacara tradition's understanding of the structure of our mind and how it functions. He’s an idealist and believes all is mind. Yogacara belived in mind first as that’s our experience of the world outside mind but believes and outside world is there. They are different.

@@aleclyon1816 To believe that there is a separate "outside" reality would not be right. That's dualistic. It also cannot be a kind of subjective or solipsistic idealism either. At any rate, what we perceive is only the world of form. What is this world of form? Just Mind.

CristianJ I don't think one can come up with something "independently" in 2022 to the extent it resembles extant ideas. Whether Kastrup is familiar with Buddhism or not, the teachings of Buddhism are all around us and there is no way he can avoid being influenced.

Sounds very similar to Carl Jung’s teachings on the personal and collective unconscious and the Shadow concept.
