Thanks for this video, you shared great advice here. Not all thoughts are our own. All things have a spiritual basis so the physical world is just a reflection of what took place none physically in eternity... like a skyscraper is just a reflection of the information that was in the mind of the architect or the tree a reflection of the information in a seed and the surrounding environment. There's a lot going on in the world now and technologies have been developed and are in use that can project thoughts into our mind. Scary but true... However, If we aspire to follow Christ then we can rise above it all.

Intrusive thoughts are totally explicable naturalistically, you don't need to resort to paranormal explanations for them.
@Esch-a-ton36 ай бұрын
I said that in the video.

As above so below, every single naturalistic cause has a higher paranormal reflection and so on

Why does everything need to be a disorder? I'm a clinician, and I don't look at everything that way.

What are you referring to specifically?
@toadster_strudel3 ай бұрын
@davethesid8960 Not all intrusive thoughts are signs of mental illness. They can, but they don't have to be. We can be so quick to label something or give someone a diagnosis. For example: A 14 year old who just went through a breakup and having suicidal thoughts is not necessarily mentally ill. Likewise, someone having intrusive thoughts and being able to function normally isn't necessarily having a mental health crisis. For the purpose of getting reimbursed by insurance, you've got to put something in there.

@@toadster_strudel I partially agree. Intrusive thoughts, while evil, most of the time can be dealt with easily. Like sudden bursts of lust. However, suicidal thoughts because of a breakup for a 14-year-old? That definitely needs to be treated with both love, compassion and professional help. Intrusive thoughts are bad things that defocus our attention from things that are actually important, so we have to get rid of them, not on our own, but by the power of the Holy Spirit.

@davethesid8960 I definitely agree. A person in crisis shouldn't be ignored. But there are so many so-called "disorders" out there that are just simply bad behavior or bad thinking. Borderline personality disorder is a great example. You see a lot of emotional dysregulation, suicidal or self-injuruous behavior, emotional manipulation, and risky/impulsive behavior. There is no medication out there approved to treat it. It's really difficult to treat, mostly because the people who have it have such poor insight. However, with proper treatment (DBT), it has a very high remission rate. We used to call these things "sin," but nowadays, we've got clinical terms to describe them. We've bought into this idea that people lack free will, and all bad behavior is outside our control. We are all victims of and whoever can claim to be the most afflicted has the most credibility. It's complete nonsense.

I wonder if we had a conversation about the ontology of knowledge outside the human mind if you might agree that there are conscious beings that exist in the dimension of information.

@@Esch-a-ton3 Sounds like a bunch of gobbledygook and doublespeak. But, ok. Please explain your notion of "knowledge outside the human mind." Also, in what form do these "conscious beings that exist in the dimension of information" manifest themselves?

@@ruformaloperational typically that’s the response of someone who doesn’t understand metaphysics. KZbin comments aren’t exactly conducive to conversation so if you’d like you can hit me up on instagram @whatistruth777

@@Esch-a-ton3 Since I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, that really doesn't apply to me. It wasn't an ivy league school and it was quite a long time ago, but I fully understand metaphysics. You have a firm belief in the supernatural which I do not share. In fact, I've been an atheist since becoming formal operational (hence my KZbin alias). I suspect that any conversation would quickly deteriorate into an argument or a standstill. I will, however, keep your gracious offer in mind. Good luck with your channel.
