TM Krishna is not criticising (his own) religion. He is criticising ostracism based on varna shastra.

Swarnamalya's answers are excellent. Thevaiyetra kelvigalukku sariyana mutrupulli. "Netrikann thirapinum kuttram kuttrame"nu oru mythological kadhai undu. Has the anchor not heard of it? Marainthu pogum maanidan maraiporulaiye kelvi kettatha puranam sollgirathu. Why can't man ask man questions? This anchor tends to be very friendly and agreeable when he interviews persons of brahmin heritage, but not others. Why are questions raised of Hinduism only? The question itself is wrong. The question is not raised because of Hinduism but because of varna shastra which has attached itself to Hinduism. Caste system was instituted for vocations to continue. It then evolved into blood line and birth right issues and found expression as varna shastra in the Vedas. Varna shastra which advocates inequality by birth as opposed to inequality at birth is the reason for the questions. Not Hinduism. Belief in God existed before varna shastra came into being and will exist without varna shastra. You don't need varna shastra to have a belief in God. Varna shastra now requires a belief in God for its existence. This is why it appears questions are raised only of and in Hinduism. No other society in the World practises a system of inequality by birth as does varna shastra. Inequality at birth can be overcome. Inequality by birth, advocated by varna shastra, can't. Know the difference.

மதம் பற்றிய கேள்விகள் , சந்தேகங்கள் எழும்போது குறிப்பிட்ட நாட்டில் உள்ள பெரும்பான்மை மதம் குறித்து கேள்விகள் எழுப்புவதே ஆரோக்கியமானது , இங்கு சிறுபான்மையாக உள்ள மதங்கள் எங்கெல்லாம் பெரும்பான்மை மதங்களாக உள்ளனவோ அங்கெல்லாம் அந்த மதங்கள் குறித்து கேள்வி எழுப்பி கொள்ளட்டும். உங்களது மதம் பற்றி கேள்வி கேட்டால் பதிலால் அடி கொடுப்பதுதானே நியாயம் ? அதை விடுத்து அவர்களை ஏன் கேட்கவில்லை , இவர்களை ஏன் கேட்கவில்லை என திருப்பி கேட்பது உங்களிடம் எந்த பதில்களும் இல்லை என்பதை நீங்களே ஒப்புக்கொள்வது போலாகி விடுகிறதே ?

Your comment appears to be holy but it's utopian. Going by your view point that questions are asked in countries where the respective religion is dominant, are u sure that in Islamic Countries which are ruled autocratic & dictators non - believers , critics & reformers have freedom to voice their position as freely as India? Touch your heart & answer. Women are given 3rd rated treatment in West Asia and M.east with hardly any rights .Can u name any revolutionary or social reformer who is able to stem the rot by challenging the monarchs . You can't becoz such freedom & liberties are impossible in such make chauvinistic & close minded countries.

Whole world witnessed what happened 4 early this year in Iran when Women refused wear Burqa & Hijab & came to streets in thousands seeking relief from regressive practices & women centric restrictions. What happened eventually , more than 500 protestors were killed like dogs & many were executed for participating in the protests. Now I gather that rhe regime has further tightened the regressive restrictions after they were able to crush the opposition. Has any of the other Islamic countries registered protest even in.mildest form as such heinous treatment is meteed to commoners & women in 2023. Not even a lip sympathy from any of the OIC countries. My friend, Hinduism always allows itself to debate & criticism and eventually make changes in a peaceful manner.
