Thanks Randy. I use to think you were crazy, but now I really understand what you’ve been pushing for a long time now. I appreciate your efforts to bring attention to these issues I think this year, as a fan, I’ll follow the NPFL. They did draw in a lot of great anglers and it will be great see folks actually fishing and displaying their years of experience and knowledge of the species. I’ll try to tune in more, but i am trying to limit my time on social media these days and actually do more “stuff”. Gotta run👍🏻

The best years to me where when BASS and FLW had schedules that allowed guys to fish both and there were no sponsor conflicts like those that made you choose FLW over BASS. Irwin Jacobs is the main reason payouts increased as they did. He was good for the sport.

Keep in mind, the elites drastically reduced entry fees. I think it's $10k for the season now. NPFL only has 6 events, so many of these guys are fishing both circuits and paying less entry fees than the elites in 2024.

Elites is 0 entry,NPFL is 5200 each,6 events plus championship. Makes sense to fish both if you have the cheese to do it.

Really wish you would do more research before posting videos. It’s a lot more elite anglers than you said. Also BASS is only $10k this year and NPFL is $30k. Which is still less than the elite anglers paid in entry fees last year for just the elite series. I that being said can’t wait for the NPFL next year.

I agree with your ranking. And I know it hurts you because you’re partial to bass. I was too. But they lost their way. NPFL legitimized themselves going against the grain. MLF did a partial ban, 2/3 periods. Bassmaster did nothing and they are now last. If it were to go to one circuit it wouldn’t be bassmaster

The organization that puts the most money and time into marketing will be the one that is viewed as the top league in fishing. Whichever one gets the TV slots so that people can turn on the TV and watch good, quality fishing with cameras in the most boats, the best coverage of the anglers at work. The best production staff of analyst and commentators and the best available platform for people to view it on will be viewed as the top of he sports. I've always agreed that watching a man staring at a screen and catching bass on a spinning reel is boring and not "good TV". In reality that's what will separate one league from the others; not just if they ban some technology like livescope

I agree with most of your assessments however if you compare bass fishing to most other sports the bass fishing is not a pro sport. Bass anglers pay to compete, real pro athletes get paid to compete, big difference.

I feel each state will continue to slot limit a lot of big popular fisheries. Too many tournaments on these fisheries which obviously affects the fish population! I feel the BPT format of catch, weigh, release is the only format that makes sense for these big circuits to conduct tournaments!

NFPL scheduled their events around the Elites, and banned FFS to set themselves apart to draw anglers. It was a business decision in their best interest. I doubt you will see any Elite anglers leave for the NPFL. So now we have 3 major trails, all with different rules and limitations on FFS. As a viewer it's a Win-Win. All 3 trails should all be good to watch.

I’ve been away from home fishing tournaments for 150 to 175 days a year for over 35 years of my life. Just because one tournament circuit came along and did the right thing does not mean I’m going to jump back in to that lifestyle. Because that lifestyle is toxic to family life. Its all in how fishing is now days. The tournaments on Bassmaster are won looking at a screen. I dont watch it anymore. MLF is got the BIGGEST EGO in fishing running it Boyd Duckett and you can throw Gary Klein in there as well. Not sure about his ego dint seem to be nowhere near Ducketts. I dont watch MLF. Have yet to see anything on NPFL so time will tell. You got the cheating in tournaments coming into the light now but as we all know, its always been there. Its why I quit fishing night tournaments. Then the Ben Milliken thing, who knows the actual truth on that. Its DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS. Then you got the Gerald Swindle issue turning the guy in for running a no wake zone. Nothing done for running the no wake zone that we heard of but sure heard alot about Gerald turning him in, so Gerald was ridiculed. Professional bass fishing is a mess.
