Andjela has so much potential. Simply because not many girls play with this spinny Kasatkina style, or can kick the serve like Dolehide. Lots of variety in her game and therefor opportunities to gameplan into opponents weaknesses. Also, massive improvements by Ema, since she decided for a comeback. Especially her serve and movement are on another level.

Coach Nick I noticed high end players are very patient and when their opponents hit a backhand down the line, if the ball is short to their forehand the point is usually over or their opponent is on a serious defensive position immediately! Ema is very patient and she has amazing ability to put her opponents on defense most of the match. Great playing ladies and I appreciate you posting this match thank you.

Ema on a good day is all sorts of trouble! Congrats to both players, very entertaining watch. Loved your play and attitude Maci, sometimes the other player is just too good. Really enjoyed seeing both players compliment each other’s good shots, wish I saw more of it at the junior levels. I was pretty surprised to see Maci spinning her racquet and letting it fall to the ground to determine serve and side. A guaranteed way to damage your over grip before play even starts in my experience. I teach players to never do that and I’m guessing Nick probably agrees. Nick you should test Shamir out! Make sure he has a newer over grip on, tell him that you want to play a practice tie break, then have him spin to decide serve and side. Will he damage his grip on the ground or not!

Just an observation here, not a criticism at all. I find Andjela's forehand really interesting. On this hardcourt, she seems to let the ball drop lower, then come underneath the ball to hit it. I would assume to put more spin on it. I am more used to seeing players take the ball in the optimal position, around the hip area. Not let the ball drop too much so they don't have to get underneath it.

This set was infuriating to watch. Rarely has tennis upset me so much. Andjela - you are the better player but you didn’t use your toolset correctly. When you have time on the backhand, roll it short cross court to take her out of the court. Don’t try to attack straight through a player like this. She doesn’t have the footwork to keep up with variety in pace and placement Also don’t be afraid to commit to the net attack. But when you go in, close tight and let her have the lob. Your hands are good enough to finish in close . Also, use your kick serve. Serve and volley every once in a while or go serve plus one. Don’t be passive Hopefully there is a rematch.

why female players almost always have a big loop, every single wta player is breaking the plane, i cant think of 1 player with half a loop and it obviously have benefits - easier to take ball earlier etc, maybe Iga has a shorter loop

When I watch this match and compare it to what I´ve seen last week of a 13 years old girl here over at a tournement, it looks like "slow-motion-tennis", but guess, this little girl will be the next Steffi Graf. Watch out for her, her name is "Ida Wobker" 🙂

@@emmettebramble10 Believe me, I can jugde the difference between videos/TV and live-tennis very good, the 13 years old one plays next year 1. Bundesliga, won this year already 4 matches in the 2. bundesliga... During winter-times, next to me practises for a long time a 19 years old one WTA 480 ranked player, the 13 years old one is now already better... 🙂
