intussusception

intussusception is a condition in which one segment of intestine "telescopes" inside of another, causing an intestinal obstruction (blockage). Although intussusception can occur anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract, it usually occurs at the junction of the small and large intestines.

I had this happen to me when I was 35. Was told its rare in adults, mine was caused by a polyp. I had to have emergency surgery as the tissue was starting to die. Most painful thing I have ever experienced

My 3 year old baby girl just woke up to this at 6am Screaming and pointing to pain under her belly button lasted about 5 to 8 seconds then just like that she was fine for 10'15 minutes then was back to Screaming so I thought maybe she hunger really bad cuz she really didn't eat aloy the day before so got her food she was eating then Out of nowhere started screaming again so I took her the this To hospital that was built over here on the West side of town and of course they tried to say it was just a stomach bug and tryed to send us home but when I was standing her up I happen to notice a bump on her stomach and demanded a Ultra sound and sure enough they found this problem and rushed her to Denver, Colorado children's hospital to fix it. After her procedure she was back to her normal happy self telling the doctor to get out she needs to go Poop 🤣💩 she came out with a big smile telling them thank you can i go home now....

I have a transient one in the duodenal. After camera pill finding nothing, a year ultrasound confirms nothing, like it corrected itself. A few years later during some gastritis and an MRI, it was present again. Weird. Had a balloon endoscopy and they saw nothing at all. I think we are watching it. I have not had classic symptoms.

My 3 years old two sonography are normal still she cries with pain for 20 25 mins sometimes daily sometimes on alternate days few doc says it might be acidity, few are saying sonography doest not give 100% results we are struggling with this from past 15 days what it might be

I had one for 5 months and doctors thought it was IBS took them 5 months just to take a CT scan to finally find it. The pain gets worse as each day goes by. So if you do have it get surgery immediately.

@@undisputedchieftain3287 I feel you! I have been to the hospital several times because mine goes in attacks. And every time they said it’s gastric acid or something wrong with my stomach itself. Finally they did a CT scan last Sunday and now I’m finally diagnosed with this.

@@skyemr I had surgery the next day because I had intussusseption secondary to Meckles diverticulum which was extremely rare for my age.
