Такое приспособление сделал в 2000 году примерно.Подшипники ставил роликовые конусные,тоже примерно такой редуктор .Головку сам делал с ласточкиным хвостом.Очень много на автомобили точил шаровые ,рулевые наконечники . Нужная вещь.

Thanks for the nice videos from Tyrol/ Austria 😊 I have nearly the same lathe as you and some San Ou chucks which I need to fit to my camlock 1 4 spindle with an adapter plate ( pain in the ass😂) the Din 6350 chucks are so much cheaper than the DIN 55229 that I do it regularly the runout does not exceed 0,02 or I don't like the adapter plate and make a new one😂

Nicely made! The only problem I have with these vertical sphere cutters is that they load the cross slide in a way that is not taken into account by the designer. With this tool, the rear of the cross slide is lifted by the acting forces, exactly the opposite of the design that only takes downward forces on the bed into account. This does not have to be a major problem with a quality machine, but with a less well designed or worn machine this can lead to very unpleasant results.

During normal on center machining, the resultant of that torque is always directed downwards, towards the bed. The bed and slide are designed on this basis, the cross slide is pressed onto the ways. The greater the cutting forces, the more firmly the slide is pressed onto the bed. When the tool bit with this sphere cutter reaches its top position (the tip rises far above the center), a torque is created on the tool tip that is directed towards you. The resulting force tries to lift the cross slide at the rear. This will cause problems with a cheaper, somewhat worn or not properly adjusted lathe. That is why, for example, I also am not in favor of upside-down single point threading, as propagated by a number of KZbinrs; the forces acting will try to pull the cross slide off the bed. It's simple mechanics, but important to know in my opinion.

If the effort comes towards me, it means that the absorption is distributed totally on the cross slide, well, this is long and hardly raises the tail. think about the effort the slide has to make when you work normally with a tool....the slide would lift the right side much more easily. The gib adjustment avoids this. If you find yourself with a very light and worn cross member and cannot adjust the pads under guidance, you can always block the carriage at the rear and then move forward with the upper trolley.

During normal lathe use (excluding very long bore bars), the force exerted by the workpiece on the insert will always be downward and within the boundaries of the saddle. There is then no point on the saddle that feels an upward force, every force anywhere on the saddle is downward. This is different with your beautifully made tool. The force on the insert is not directed downwards, but towards you, and as a result the force on the saddle has become a torque. That torque will push the front of the saddle down, no problem there. But the rear is lifted. Many cheaper or somewhat worn lathes have some play at the bottom of the saddle that can hardly be adjusted. So, if you want to perform this operation on such a machine without any problems, you will have to tighten the saddle and feed it with the compound.

On some lathes, like mine, the nut is at the front, and therefore hardly provides any clamping force at the rear. This nut is not intended to prevent the saddle from lifting, it is there to prevent the saddle from sliding over the bed due to backlash in the half nut. I agree fully: This tool is beautifully made!

Hola Maurizio ,excelente herramienta para hacer esferas ,unos de los accesorios que primero me fabrique ,para poder fabricar rotulas de maquinaria agrícola ,casi una replica de lo que nos muestra ,la diferencia es solo que en lugar de la cabeza de alesador que por cierto es perfecto y ya está echo, use una especie de carrito ,como el charriot ,también echo casero ,en cuanto al sistema lo mismo y como reductor,, un viejo engranaje y construí un sin fin ,para que coincida con el paso ,,siempre estorbo en el trabajo ,un pequeño juego entre dientes y sin fin ,,así se lo regale a mí yerno, el ajusto ese juego entre ambos ,y quedó perfecto ,yo ahora sin nada ,,para hacer este trabajo ,y esperando la oportunidad para hacer otro ,ya más,refinado ,,,e visto varios,, distintos ,pero me encantó su idea ,usted la simplifico ,aprovechando las dos cosas ,el cabezal y reductor ,y con la gran posibilidad de ampliar los radios hasta lograr ,un diámetro importante ,y con el mismo ,se puede fabricar las partes exteriores en dos secciones, para formar el exterior de una rotula, ,está muy bien diseñado ,,felicitaciones ,admiro su capacidad de resolver e inventar ,un don no de muchos ,grasias Maurizio por compartir sus videos ,buen día, y un abrazo grande ,

Vorrei sicuramente adattare i tuoi progetti alla mia macchina seguendo pari passo i tuoi video, così spero di non disturbarti se chiedo alcune informazioni: il riduttore è geniale! Posso chiedere che rapporto di riduzione usa? Altra domanda: la testina di alesatura mi tornerebbe utile per usarla anche sulla mia piccolissima fresatrice Proxxon con un adattatore che ho in mente; hai per caso dei link per acquistare il riduttore e la testa di alesaggio? Grazie mille Gianluca, il riduttore ha un rapporto 30:1 con uscita 14mm e perno madre vite 9mm, è tutto materiale che trovo qua e la dove capita nei mercatini ecc.
