Thank s for this great information. Funny I am just getting ready to hang a moving blanket (removable) outdoors at my home so I have something to serve into. I just bought the supplies today and then I found your video. Now I have some great serve progressions to work on off court at my home. Thanks!

Hi Jeremy - great content as usual! You channel is by far the best tennis channel on KZbin. I always learn something new after watching your videos and your explanations are always easy to understand. It would be great is you could cover footwork in a future video - particularly when running to a wide ball - whether to plant and stretch, or whether to take the extra steps to hit (and be pushed out wider) and then recover.

So true Jeremy. Visualize and feel. Visualization: The brain is tricked between reality and visualization. Doing it in slow motion as you've mentioned helps. I also find that if I start doing it in an extreme manner helps the brain remember - we always remember the most memorable moments good or bad. Also watching the GOAT Federer in slow motion is another aid in visualization. Your videos do a great job focusing on the key scenes. Feel: Bruce Lee was a big proponent of this. See the opening scene in Enter the Dragon when he tells a student to "Feel, don't think". If I may, Tomaz at Feel Tennis uses this extensively.

Very interresting. It is the first time that I see something about correcting the bad techniques this way. I agree with you.It is very important to concentrate on what you feel and not consider the results you have. It is also interresting to compare what you feel and what you see on the video just after your try. It is also important for me to concentrate on one point at a time because our brain can not do more. ( sorry for my english, i am a french coach)

Superb.. My problem is the Serve either has power or Net Clearance, not both. Whenever I try to pronate on the 1st serve , I always end up dumping the ball in the net or overhitting the service line. I think it is an issue with the ball toss , i.e if i toss the ball a bit behind my left eye, I end up overhitting the serve line. However, when I overcompensate by tossing in front of my head and into the court, I end up dumping the 1st serve into the net... Help :-X

Hi Jeremy, how about a couple of videos on taking the ball early forehand and backhand side.

@@FundamentalTennis Basically how it's done correctly. When the pros do it they get it back deep and with some pace. When I try its short and a floater. Don't know if the swing path has to change, follow through is different , swing speed, racket angle. Any tips or technical advice you could give would really help.

Great video! my issue is early racket drop, getting stuck in drop , even with good toss, my shadow swing is great, ball distracts me, still hit average serve for a 4.0 player, but 6 2 should hit much faster, I have the whip motion in shadow swings, will practice these progressions

@randeepbahia32164 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeremy. What if there are a few things to correct in the service would you still recommend? I would benefit from serving with a lag, keeping tossing arm upright, and also working on my take back and the resulting trophy position. Would you suggest tackling all at the same time or working through one at a time?
@borisnahalka30275 жыл бұрын
i kind of like my serve, it is fast enough, i can put some spin on it, my problem is accuracy. very often it goes or into the net or past the service box. can you recommend some drills? thank you. another tendency i have is to rush the swing, so i often end up hitting the upper part of my racket instead of a sweet spot. any remedy for that?
@FundamentalTennis5 жыл бұрын
Boris Nahalka I may make a video on that in the future. As for you hitting the top of the frame, that is usually from dropping your non-dominant side too early which brings the head down and often causes frame hits at the top of the racquet head
