** Both Iguanas and Snakeheads are invasive and highly encouraged by the FWC to be removed from our ecosystem. Everything you see in this video abides with FWC's laws and animals were dispatched humanely**
This is one of my favorite videos to date. James, Mitchell and I set out to catch some of Florida's most INVASIVE species. The Bullseye Snakehead and Green Iguana are two highly invasive and destructive species, that were released into the wild and have since flourished. Iguanas are often kept as pets and when they get too big, people release them into wild. Florida is the perfect environment for these reptiles. My buddy James is a professional chef and he made an amazing meal out of these two animals. Fried iguana legs with a soy ginger garlic sauce and pan seared snakehead made this catch clean cook really come to life! The iguana recipe and snakehead recipe were beyond incredible!

My mom survived the Korean War and married an American GI who fed her what he could hunt, catch or dig. He taught me to appreciate the lives of what we harvested and find the enjoyment of the hunt. I am happy you showed how to clean these creatures because my next trip to FLA I am going to hit up a sports shop and try to catch and cook both of these species. We have owned sporting shops in Mass for over 50 years. Excellent video!!

@@johnpadilla4661 They’re not living in cramped spaces the way factory farm animals are, which is the majority of what you’ll find in a grocery store. No tails being cut off to prevent biting like pigs, no debeaking like chickens, no force feeding like geese, no taking of their day old calves like cows. I’m not saying they don’t die, but they don’t suffer in the same way that the majority of animals we raise with the intention of eating on large scales normally do. I’d rather see something wild or with room to move and take a single bullet/arrow/hook/whatever than be kept in poor conditions that poorly impact their quality of life, the mental health of the slaughterhouse employees, and the environment and community having to deal with agricultural by-products that negatively impact those living in the surrounding areas.

Heck, I am not a huge fisherman (my teenage son is!), but I love EATING good fish and love watching cool, sort of exotic--especially salt water/off-shore--fishing vids! Your channel has got my attention; I have already watched about 6 vids in like two days! I loved this one because, being a bit of an enviro-hound, I love the idea of making the very best of an invasive species, the Snakehead. I had always heard they made good eating, and this vid proved it. NOW, I need to try it. Keep up the great work: you vids are well-done, educational, and entertaining! Fish on!

When I was in the Army in 1985, we went on a mission to Nicaragua and Honduras. In Nicaragua, we were confined to a small base and we only had C-rations (MREs were in the near future). The locals would bring us Iguanas and trade them for our crappy C-rats. I will always remember those little BBQs that we had. Scrumptious!

Alex Cunningham So people making a valid point offends you and leads you to assuming who and what they are? I live in West Virginia, hunt, and large portions of my diet are either hunted caught or raised by me or a local farmer I get food from such as beef. But I’m not such a tribalistic dipshit that I think the whole world should live and be like me and I actually think it is a good thing different people have different ways of life. Back in olden times a farmer didn’t need to make his tools and a blacksmith didn’t need to raise cattle because they traded their goods. Not every human being had to kill and be okay with killing. Further more you don’t need the rest of humanity to agree with you and your way of life to be happy. I sure don’t need others to validate myself, if someone doesn’t agree with hunting. Fine by me there is places for them to live and be with like minded people. Grow up and realize the planet doesn’t have to be full of nothing but people that are exactly like you.

Rich Osthoff yes I would say that those iguanas were put down humanely. I would say the only thing that was inhumane here was they let the fish just “drown”, instead of putting a knife in the spinal column or brain cavity. Just to speed up the process, vs them gasping for air, which also sometimes soils the meat due to the hormone rush.

Mike Gee Hate to be the bearer of bad news but stray cats and dogs are a big problem too. Specifically cats as they are often kept as "outside cats" and do a lot of damage to the ecosystems that they’re set loose in. Geeeez that looks so good! 🤤🤤🤤I would like to hire yames to be my personal chef, straight up. My mouth has been drooling since I saw the snakehead fileted, but once yames started whipping it up...... OooooOooOOOooooO boy! Talk about mouth watering. I'm sucker for good food and one of my personal favorite styles is that very fresh style with lots of peppers and limes and garlic and mangos, kinda like an Asian meets carribean, meets south American, meets sea food... I better stop bc i know I ain't getting nothing that good today, and I'm (and yall) are just teasing me at this point. Never had iguana, but it is absolutely on my list now! Thanks for the awesome video! You got a new sub here! (I came from "catch em all"s channel, I gotta say, you're much easier to watch. It's kind of hard watching him sometimes bc he's so hyper and repetitive. You're much calmer and act more realistic and less show offy. Which is cool) OK, I'm out. Comment over. Finally. 👌🏽👍🏼🤤🤤🦎🦎🎣🐡🐟

Just happened to come across this video I think it's awesome that you guys have caught 2 species that destroy stuff. Absolutely love it! Ty for explaining everything btw as well! I appreciate that you do that bc I had no idea. Especially bc I am from Delaware & we don't have Iguanas running around like Florida. Great video. Looking forward to watching your others as well.

people peeling Bad....... Iguana peeling GOOD!!! seriously guy’s, florida could make the big bucks by going commercial and doing online sales of both snakehead filets as well as iguana meat, the money’s brought in could go to a fund to help rebuild area’s destroyed by the hurricanes and tornadoes, as well as just getting rid of these invasive species a Lot faster.. I live in louisiana and would love to get some iguana meat and snakehead fillet frozen and shipped. as for the video, I loved every minute of it and would love the recipe for the sweet potato and ginger soup (bisque ?) also the ratio of flour to cornstarch ratio for dipping the iguana wings? was it one cup of cornstarch to 1/2 cup of flour?? also would love the recipe for the dressing for the wings?? sorry for the long post. I subscribed too...
